Chapter 14 | DATE NIGHTT

In the gas station parking lot, we pull into Chick-fil-a. There's something big going down tonight, and I know what it is.

First, I suspect we'll get the food and then he'll drive us through a deserted road full of beautiful flowers while we watch the stars.

As a second guess, we gather the food and drive to an open theatre to watch an old heartwarming romance film.

My last guess, we get the food and pull up to my favorite spot, the library! Conversations ensue as we learn more about each other.

There'll be a sting in my tail if all we do tonight is reside inside Chick-fil-a.

As I open my car door, he comes around the car and walks up to me wrapping his elongated arm around my neck as we walk inside.

One thing he did right tonight was open the door to the fast food restaurant.

"What would you like to eat?" He looks down at me as I gaze up at the menu. "Uhm, I don't know. Pick something nice for me?" I suggest and he nods his head. "Stay here." He says walking to the counter.

I awkwardly stand watching him order something. I turn my attention to a group of snickering teens. I don't look at them for long because we all know how teens are when you stare too much.

I roam my eyes over random people and I see a familiar face, Blake.

I stare at him awestruck but at least my mouth ain't hanging open this time.

He feels my gaze and looks my way. We meet each others eyes and he does a double-take.

"Yo, I ordered." Leon walks up to me, "Okay." I say and he guides me to an open table.

We sit at a table that is against the window. Blake's table is right behind Leon and i'm not sure how he didn't see him yet.

Blake glances at me and I do it right back. It's easier for us to see each other because he's facing me while his friend is sitting in-front him—to Leon's back and from my angle Leon is in-front me while Blake is behind him.

"How long will it take?" I question turning my attention on Leon who appears to be on his phone, "About 15 minutes" He says not looking up at me.

I unintentionally look at Blake to see him glaring daggers at Leon's head. Leon finally gets off his phone, "So, how old are you?" He questions and I answer him. "I'm 20 as well." He nods his head.

I look back Blake to see him manspreading while he leans into his seat. He stares at me and I stare at him. "Why do you keep looking behind me?" Leon's chuckles and thank goodness he didn't look back.

I nonchalantly shrug my shoulders and the cashier calls out a number. "That's us." Leon winks getting up from his seat.

Blake shakes his head at Leon while he makes his way to the counter. I lightly furrow my eyebrows. What is his problem?

Leon came back with the food and I see that it's not takeaway. I guess my fantasies went down to drain.

How unfortunate.

He gently sets it down and tells me what he ordered. It doesn't take us long before we dig in. My fries taste amazing so that's the only thing I'm munching.

"What's your moms name?" He question's munching on his chicken salad, "Angelina, why?"

"I'm just trying to get to know you more." He smiles at me.

When we finish out food, we make our way to the parking lot. "That was great, I guess." I breathe out and he nods. He's become nonchalant all of a sudden and I don't like it.

"Hey, can you drop me off at the library instead of my house?" I tell him and he nods again pulling the car back in reverse.

I was really indulged in Leon and I'd conversation to the point where I didn't realize Blake had left.

I do miss the topic when he pulls up to Hill's Library. "Thank you for today." I tell him and he looks into my eyes. He draws in closer and I do the same. His lips latch onto mine until I back up so we don't go further than that. I don't really know his intentions yet.

I get out of the car and bid him goodbye as he pulls out of the driveway. I watch him take a turn into the main road and accelerate down the street until I couldn't see his car anymore.

I sigh slowly turning back and behold the one and only Blake Miller was standing behind me with his hands tucked into his baggy khaki cargos.

I flinch at the sight of him. "Blake?" I squint and he slowly strides closer to me.

I take a few steps back out of reflex. His eyes hold a raging fire that has been burned up for the longest.

"Aurelia."
