𝐀𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐀A deep gaze filled his eyes as if he was searching for something in mine.
"What do you want Blake?"
He takes a deep breath, "I can't hold it in anymore."
"Hold what in?" I question furrowing my eyebrows. "Leon." He says looking down at me, "What about Leon?" I question further.
He looks down at our feet and I fold my arms over my chest examining him. "Leon.. spread those rumors about you." He belted out in anger.
I just stood there like a mannequin.
"What?" That came out as a mere whisper. "He's the one who spread those rumors throughout campus."
"I don't believe you." I shake my head and he scoffs, "Aurelia. You asked me the other day if I knew who spread false accusations against you. I said I didn't but you and I both know that was a lie."
I shake my head in disbelief, "Leon wouldn't do something like that."
He stares at me with sheer anger. He then pulls out his phone from his pocket, silently scrolling. I gulp looking away until he showed me a screenshot on his phone.
I can see that it's Leon's instagram story. A huge paragraph had been written about me, "AURELIA TARAJI" was displayed at the top all in bold.
"Hoe" "Gold digger" "Loser who wants attention." "Stay away from her." "She wants to beat up Blake Miller and Trevor Murray so bad because they rejected her." "She's a disgrace to the black community." "No one ever wants to be friends with her for this reason." "Her coochie probably stink."
My heart was pumping out of my chest. He pulled his hand back after I had read everything and gazed at me with a look I can't describe.
I just went on a date with him and he was spreading rumors about me behind my back.
I feel nothing but hatred, sadness, and anger all combined. "Why?" I breathe out looking at the ground. "I never do anything to people, I never hurt anybody, I don't talk to anybody but me, I mind my own business and STILL people won't leave me alone." I take in deep breaths, "I sit in the back of every lecture for goodness sake." I look up at him.
"I know." He shakes his head. "I just had to tell you after I saw you with him." He says.
"Well, thanks I guess." A tear runs down my face. He raises his hand and wipes it off, "You're too pretty to cry."
I scoff, "You think I believe that?" And he walks closer to me, "No, but you should."
I gaze toward the ground and wipe away my tears. I look up at him to see a faint smile play at his lips.
"Why are you being nice to me?" I question looking into his eyes. "I knew you would ask that question at some point." He nods his head, "And I don't have an answer to it." He said.
"An apology would be nice." I sass and he chuckles but stops when he sees that I'm serious.
"Aurelia." He says and I raise up my eyebrows, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for making fun of you and bullying you. At my big age I shouldn't be doing childless acts like that."
It takes a minute before I speak up, "It's okay. I accept your apology."
He smiles, "Thank you."
"But that doesn't mean we're friends now." I tell him and he nods, "Fair enough."
"If Leon is the one who spread those rumors about me, who beat up you and Trevor when you showed up to Mrs Amy's lecture?" I question while he stares down at me with hooded eyes.
"Now that, I cannot tell you."
"Alright." I say respecting his wishes.
The thought still plays in my mind though.
Leon is the one who spread those rumors about me yearning to fight Blake, Riley, and Trevor. Why did Blake and Trevor show up to class with fresh bruises? Who beat them up after my panic attack in the library?
