𝐀𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐀"Please be more careful next time." Mrs. Amy tells me and I nod making my way out of the class. I limp walking throughout campus. My ankle is aching and I'm trying to not put too much weight on it.
I mind my business trying to get to my Biophysics class but a random girl suddenly stops me on the way there. "Hey, I don't know you but you better get off campus right now. Riley is planning to beat you up after what happened yesterday." She tells me.
"W-what?" I stutter in disbelief. "Look, everybody knows you go to the library. Don't ask how, but we do. Go to Chick-fil-a or something." She says in a hurry.
"Chick-fil-a?" I scrunch my nose up. I've never tried it in my life and I'm not sure how it tastes.
"Girl, I know your having doubts but now is not the time! Riley will come up to you when you least expect it. Trust me, if she doesn't find you on campus, she will surely look for you in the Hill's Library."
Why is Riley going to beat me up? I haven't done anything to her apart from my comments earlier this morning.
Does she really think is some Highschool drama on Netflix?
"What happened yesterday?" I question staring at her and she furrows her eyebrows, "It's all over social media including Riley's page."
Of course it is.
She really does think this is some Highschool drama on Netflix.
"I'm not getting off campus." I tell her walking away as she ties her braids into a ponytail and stares at me in all seriousness, "Ditch. the. class."
"Thank you for telling me but I'm not ditching." I give her a polite smile. Mr. Sanchez made it very clear that you shouldn't skip his class at any given cost unless you have a reasonable explanation.
And for me, it ain't worth skipping his class for a kiddie fight. Yes, a kiddie fight. She gon throw baby punches my way because her fists are the size of a literal five-year-old.
I enter his lecture and walk up the steps one foot at a time. I sit down on my seat and look around to see that Riley isn't in class.
The moment I glance at Mr. Sanchez' desk, I see that he's already watching me. Turning my attention to his tattooed knuckles, I notice that they are bruised but patched up. The intensity of his gaze overpowers my shyness, so I put my head down.
One day I'll stand up to you. One day.
"How to apply Physics concepts and problem solving skills to Biological Processes. Write that down." His deep voice commands.
I open up my book and begin to take notes. I was so indulged into the lesson that I didn't realize Riley was standing right in-front of me until she spoke up, "Well, well, well." She taps her fingers on my desk in a rhythmic pace.
