𝐀𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐀A smile is plastered on my mothers face when she ends the call. "So, what did he say?" I ask biting my nails in nervousness, "Aurelia, judging by the last sentence I told him, what do you think he said?" She holds one hand on her hip while the other is on the counter supporting her body weight.
"Yes. He said yes." I small smile creeps onto my face, "Then?" She chuckles walking away.
"What do I do?" I follow behind her, "Do what a student does when their professor comes over to tutor them." She gestures her hand in the air, "Right."
"Why are you so uneasy?" She folds her arms looking at me. Well, firstly I find him attractive and I think about him a lot like when I'm about to go to bed OR when I put my shoes on OR even when I'm reading a romance novel I think of him as the main character. No, you can't say that. Think of something Aurelia! Uh.. "Because I've never had a tutor before!" I tell her and she raises up her eyebrows. She smirks, "Fair enough."
She walks back to her room while I prep the kitchen counter with loads of books. Right on cue, the doorbell rings. I rush to the guest bathroom to check if I look presentable and.. pretty.
Why am I doing this? I don't know. Will I manage to hold eye contact while he looks at me with his intimidating eyes? Maybe. Do I care what he thinks? Yes. Do I look cute? Absolutely.
For somebody who is insecure, I sure do feel confident today. Whenever I'm in his presence I just somehow feel better about myself.
The doorbell rings again and I rush out smoothening the material of my clothes as I approach the door.
Through the peephole, I see him leaning against the wall pouting his pink lips and looking lost in thought. He puts his hands into his slacks and when I make a slight movement, his eyes shift to the peephole and it feels as if he's staring directly into my soul.
I duck praying he didn't see me. "What're you doing? Open the door Aurelia." My mom gives me a weird look. I slowly stand and give her a sheepish smile out of embarrassment.
I suck in a breathe opening the door. He stares down at me with hooded eyes.
Do not look away Aurelia.
I end up gazing at the grass behind him..
Well at least it lasted three seconds this time.
"Mrs. Taraji." He addressed my mother first out of respect. "Roman! Thank you for stopping by." She acknowledged as if she left room for him to decline.
