"Im so bored" Lily leaned over to whisper into Ellie's ear. "Yeah me too, people find this entertaining?" Ellie snickered. "Guess so" Lily rolled her eyes.

Ellie elbowed the girl and pointed to where all the adults stood. They both watched as Tommy exited the room. Both girls furrowed their eyebrows as they watched him leave.

"Wanna follow him?" Lily asked.

"Yes" Ellie nodded.

The girls stood up and began walking through the chairs of kids till they reached the adult section. "Girls, where are you going?" They turned as Maria approached them.

"We need air, it's to crowed in here, also this movie sucks, we're bored" Lily replied, it wasn't a hostile response but it wasn't the kindest either.

Lily grabbed Ellie's hand before the older woman could protest, dragging the brunette from the room and outside where they began walking in the direction Tommy's shoes were headed.

Lily sniffled a little, "you cold?" Ellie turned to her and asked. "No it's just my nose, feel like it's gonna fall off" she commented, smiling gently before the girls continued on their venture.

Lily stopped, putting her arm out to stop Ellie as she heard faint voices. She pointed to a small shed as they crept over to it slowly and quietly. Putting their ears against the door to listen.

"You want me to take them?" They heard Tommy speak.

Lilys heart dropped, like it never has before, a lump formed in her throat as she listened.

"I'm just gonna get them killed I know it. I have to leave them" Joel said, his voice soft and wavering, was he crying? Lily couldn't tell through the door.

"Joel"

"I mean it's why you took off on me right? To make up for the things we did?" He paused, "well here's your chance, to bring your kid into a better world. You're younger then me. You're still strong. You said it yourself you'll come back. You have to take them" Joel pleaded with his brother.

Hot tears formed in Lilys eyes as she pulled away from the door. "Let's go Ellie" she whispered, trying not to let her voice crack she walked away with her head hung low not bothering to see if Ellie was following her. She was, just a little behind the red head.

Lily didn't know what to think, how to feel. Maria's voice and words from earlier rung around and around in her head as she walked back to the house.

The only people who can betray us, are the ones we trust.

Lily heard the house door slam as Ellie walked in after her, both girls headed upstairs furious but hurt all at once.

Lilys breath quickened as she sat down on the bed, Ellie perched herself in the window. Lily brought her hand up to her chest as if she was trying to hold her heart, trying to tell herself that she was okay and he didn't mean it. Her other hand again came to rest on her cat who stood quickly and rubbed into her side.

Sage could tell when the girl was upset, the orange tabby would be at the girls side in seconds, rubbing his head on her side, her hands her face, licking her fingers softly meowing.

It was sweet. He helped her every time she got like this. Her breath shaking she looked towards her cat and offered the feline a fake smile as she scratched his chin. Pulling her cat onto her lap she just held him and sighed.

Ellie was silent, as was Lily. Neither of them knew what to think of the situation, neither knew what to say or how to console each other. Because they both knew they'd be yelling at each other crying if one of them tried to offer the idea that he would change his mind. Cause he wouldn't. They knew Joel, he was stubborn, if he said he was leaving, he was.
