"What's up with you?" You shoved him jokingly.
"Let me learn to love you..."

Ricky watched as the girl with the long brown hair walked past. He admired the way it reflected the sun above as is moved with the breeze. It looked so soft. No matter how many times she had dyed it, or straightened it, or curled it, no amount of heat damage ever seemed to dull the shine. Ricky's hair plagued with years of red dye and bleach had long forgotten how that felt.
He watched the way her brow furrowed and her eyes squinted as the sun glared directly into them. The way one hand wrapped around her books and the other landed softly above her brow, not directly on it, she wouldn't want to smudge her makeup.
How her jacket picked up in the wind behind her, adding to her inadvertent grace. The sleeves falling slightly as she moved her arms, switching which one was holding the books.
She was like a scene from a movie.

It wasn't the first time Ricky found himself admiring her. Everytime he came to the studio she seemed to be there. But it's not like he was complaining. This time he was crouched tying his shoe and she had just walked past the window in front of him. Had she even noticed his gaze? Would he have wanted her to?
"Okay, a 5 minute water break and then everyone back here, we still need to perfect this part of the choreography." The group behind Ricky groaned as they listened to their leader as he clapped to gain their attention. "Luckily..." Hanbin sighed back dragging out the last vowel, "If we keep at this pace we might, might! Be finished by the end of today." The group gave back a sarcastic cheer as they stuck together and laughed between themselves, making their way to their water bottles. Ricky stood up from where he was crouched tying his lace. "Hey Ricky?" Hanbin called. He hummed and nodded in response giving the elder a polite smile, widening his eyes as a sign of attentiveness. "Nice work today. I can see your improvement." Hanbin patted him on the shoulder and gave him a warm smile in return. Ricky had always been one of the quiet ones in the group. Yes, he joined in and cracked jokes here and there, but he could also be serious when he needed to be. And right now, he needed to be if he was going to make a successful debut. He kept more to himself some days, and in a group of extroverts, Hanbin could sympathise. He understood his attitude to his work immediately and admired his dedication. He wouldn't say he kept an extra eye on Ricky, but he did feel that he would know if he was uncomfortable, and he was yet to do so.
"Ah, thank you." He replied lowering his head. He was never the best at receiving complements, but he guessed he would have to get used to it, especially after debut. "I'll try my best to get this part down."
"You're doing great. Now go rest for a sec, you deserve it." The leader said as he began to walk away.
"Thank you... Oh actually, hyung?" He stopped and turned.
"Yeah?"
"Is it okay if i run to the bathroom a second?"
"Of course! Make it quick though!" Hanbin joked.
Ricky chuckled as he jogged to the door and left the practice room, closing it behind him.

"I knew you'd come out" A soft voice giggled next to him.
"Why? You stalking me or something?" He joked back. Ricky looked around making sure no one else was in the hallway before finally making eye contact with the girl.
Your hair was neat even though the wind had been blowing through it only seconds before. Your makeup was perfect like you had tried to keep it. Your eyes were still adjusting to the darker lighting of the building. Just as he had guessed.
"No... You're just predictable." You laughed. He chuckled as you repeated exactly what he was thinking about you, before he walked over to you and ushered you away from the practice room. "So what have you all been up to?" You asked him. "You working hard?"
"Nah, hardly working." You rolled your eyes at his attempt of a joke and turned a corner.
"Why don't you want the others to know we're friends?"
"It's not that... they tease, you know... and its impossible trying to tell them otherwise."
"Awhhh, they think you have a crush on me."
'No, they know I do, even though I haven't told them yet...'
"Ew, no, it's just... them." You gasped and pretended to act offended.
"Shen Quanrui! I am quite offended that you think it is gross to have a crush on me." Ricky stopped and his eyes widened not expecting you to call him by his full name especially not with that good of a pronunciation. He wasn't even aware you knew it.
"Okay, okay, sorry. I just don't like it when they joke about it that's all. Didn't have to pull out the legal name jeez..." He put his hands up defensively and you laughed playfully pushing his shoulder.
You two had reached the vending machine. Ricky knew that everytime you entered the building you would come to this exact machine and get a smoothie. The same one everytime. "Such a gentleman walking me here." You joked scanning your card and typing in the numbers.
"Yeah, yeah. So... what're you up to? What are the books?"
"Oh, the girls wanted me to bring in some Japanese text books, they wanted to learn and I told them I had a few so why not bring them in."
"They look heavy, you want any help?"
"You think I can't carry them?"
"N-no I mean-"
"2 strikes my friend, you're being quite rude today, i'm not sure i'll tolerate it much longer." You jokes poking his chest.
"Just let me help you oh my god." He rolled his eyes.
"Hmph. Fine. I was gonna ask you to anyways."
Ricky sighed and laughed as you struggled to hand him the books as well as adding a smoothie to the ones you had left.
"You sure you don't want me to carry the rest?"
"I'm fine, just walk, you know where the room is."
"Sure thing."
