Chapter 30

Shadow seemed to have his eyes on someone after the first hour went by and Sonic couldn't help but notice the person shadow had been looking at was a woman who was talking with Penelope in the crowd, she had short blonde hair and green eyes looked like she was in her mid thirties sonic didn't understand why shadow kept looking over at her but it somehow hurt his feelings "hey shadow.. shadow" Sonic said tapping his shoulder trying to get the azure hedgehog's attention "what." Shadow said coldly snapping his head to look at the ebony, sonic seemed to flinch a little "uh- it's.. nothing my bad" sonic looked away wondering what shadow was so angry for

'He's lucky I can't just leave i would have left his sorry butt here to look around by myself' sonic thought looking at the ground until shadow started to pull him along with him sonic was about to retort until he realized shadow started following the girl sonic seemed confused what was shadow trying to do sonic stopped walking to no longer be pulled around "shadow wait what are you doing?" Sonic said angrily shadow didn't answer as he continued to try following the girl, before she cut a corner around the hall then she was gone

Shadow cursed to himself rubbing his temple "great now she got away" shadow muttered to himself before glaring at sonic who flinched again shadow looked away and sighed "shadow just tell me what's going on! Why were you chasing after her?" Sonic questioned loudly bringing the attention of a few people "shut up faker stop being so loud" shadow glanced over at the crowd "no not until you tell me why did you keep looking at her we're supposed to be a team!" Sonic said getting more people's attention "is he cheating on him..?" "Whats going on" "he's supposed to be hero why is he off going after someone else while he's married" shadow looked over at sonic then at the whispering people then back to sonic

Shadow growled in annoyance and dragged Sonic outside "hey don't growl at me and let me go!" Sonic fussed as shadow brought him into the garden to be far away from the nosey people "could you stop yelling you're ruining the mission" shadow said trying not to yell "I'm ruining the mission? You're the one who won't even tell me what's going on your not even letting me help!" Shadow sighed "if i tell you whats going on will you stop yelling" shadow rubbed his temple again he was getting a headache sonic quieted down he was still angry with shadow but they both had to focus on the mission "that lady was slipping notes with some other guy I wasn't able to see were he went after the last note but they're both obviously up to something"

"And this is what you didn't want to tell me shadow this is important!-" Sonic said "i just needed to keep an eye on her it's not as big a deal you keep making it to be" shadow was starting to lose his patience "well just tell me next time you think someone is suspicious instead of just staring at her the whole time!" Sonic retorted "im starting to think this isn't about the mission so what what's your problem?" Shadow growled

"It is about the mission i just don't want you staring at her and you dont tell me why.." sonic was losing his words he was at a complete loss and shadow still had yet to process what he meant by that "look if you have a problem with working with me just sit this out it'll make my job easier.." shadow muttered the last part but that didn't matter sonic just stood there with a blank look on his face he seemed hurt he looked to the side not even wanting to look at shadow "..i didn't mean it like that sonic" he began to feel bad regretting his choice of words even him saying sonics name wouldn't help for the first time "no.. i think you've made your point clear" sonic slipped his hand out from shadows and started walking away the overwhelming feeling of nausea being overpowered by his will to get out of there

He couldn't even understand why he had felt the way he did and like shadow said it wasn't a big deal but he still felt hurt without knowing the reason why.

Shadow watched sonic head back inside losing him in the crowd, he was gone just like that you really screwed up didn't you shadow?

Shadow went back inside after a few minutes people were still whispering after seeing sonic come in alone he ignored them going down the hall to look for the woman he just hoped sonic would go after him but he never did looks like he was gonna do this alone.

Yay state testing is finally over for me the struggle was real 😔 just happy that's finally over and summer is just around the corner because i know im lookin forward to more updates!
