Fatima: why do we have to keep having to argue about this. Zac, you knew I was planning on going back to work, I extended my maternity leave to please you. Ava is going to daycare with Jace.
Zac: oh so you telling me this? Fatima: babe please stop, I'm not telling you anything, what I'm saying is that I need a break outside our house. It's been a lot. Zac: you don't have to work, I can and been taking care of us. So what you think I'm not a man and can't take care of my family? Fatima walked out sighing before Zac grabbed her arm. Zac: so that's what we do, walk away when I'm still talking to you.
The last six months have been rough for the couple. Between Fatima staying home with the kids and putting her career on the back burner, Zac has been fighting for full custody of Jace, and finding out that Karen's son is in fact Zac's. Zac has been stressed and taking it out on Fatima. Both emotionally and physically. (Sexually). Fatima hasn't been easy either. Fatima has been struggling with allowing Zac to lead their relationship not because she doesn't trust him to lead but her insecurities are flaring. The last time she submitted to a man was Ian and when it fell apart she was broken.
Fatima: Zac I'm not walking away Ava is crying. Zac shook his head and let her go. Fatima walked upstairs to get Ava from her nap. While walking back downstairs she heard Zac on the phone.
Karen: so are you going to make it to Kaz's doctors appointment on Friday? I told you two weeks ago about it. Zac: what time is it again I just have to check my schedule we should be good though. Karen: 11am Zac you picking me up or what. Zac saw the look on Fatima's face, Fatima knew it was Karen on the phone. Zac: yo let me call you back. Fatima: who was that? Rolling her eyes. Zac: Karen. Fatima: ok and what did she want? Zac : she was confirming Kaz's doctors appointment. Seeing if I can make it. Fatima: we're you going to bring it to my attention or was I going to find out like I found out the last time? Zac: yo I told you that wouldn't happen again and it hasn't why keep throwing it in my face. Fatima: I just asked a question Zac that's it, am I picking up Jace or you are? Zac: Heather is, I was hoping you could see if maybe Angela could watch Ava tonight. Fatima: why, with a confused look. Zac: I wanted to take you on a date tonight, we need to reconnect. Fatima: is that code for it's been two weeks and you want some ass? Zac: damn Fatima really? No I'm tired of fighting and I just want to reconnect. That's it Fatima. Fatima: I can't make no promises but I'll ask. Fatima walked over to put Ava in her swing and Zac went to his man cave. Fatima called Angela.
Angela: hey girl wasup
Fatima: hey girl, how you doing?
Angela: shit Fatima what's wrong? You and Zac still beefing about you wanting to go back to work?
Fatima: girl it's like I insult him by bringing up the fact I want to go back to work.
Angela: I mean Fatima, it's nothing wrong with him wanting to take care of you. Shit i wish somebody retire me.
Fatima: Angela shut up girl you're so silly.
Angela: listen Brice and I are going to this couple's retreat y'all should go. It's next month for a weekend. Shit y'all need to fix this before the wedding. Speaking of wedding what's up with that?
Fatima: girl we set a date for 8 months from now and haven't done anything. I've been researching and scheduling appointments and he's always saying just tell me when and where.
Angela: girl the man wants to marry you he told you he was willing to go to the justice of the peace.
Fatima: I know I know, idk Angela like my parents are on deck for whatever. But he won't even talk to me about his. He keeps saying "you're marrying me not them ".
Angela: that's true friend. Shit I hope Brice tells me fuck his folk's when it's our turn lol.
Angela: your crazy as hell girl, let me call you back someone is ringing my bell, I'll talk to you later.
Zac: yelling from the basement I got it babe. Zac came upstairs: Zac: that's Tony can you go upstairs and put on another shirt or something. Fatima: Zacccc stop it's a camisole. Zac: ok and your titties are spilling out the sides. Fatima: 🙄 babe I'm still breastfeeding and Tony ain't worried about me. Zac: Fatima what I say? He asked raising his voice. Fatima: Zac.... Fatima grabbed Ava out the swing and went upstairs.
Zac answered the door. Zac: what up playboy.

Before Zac could respond Fatima came down the steps asking for Ava's bottle.
Tony: wasup Fatima
Before Fatima could speak back, Zac interrupted the greeting. Zac: Yo what did I just tell you about your shirt. Fatima was embarrassed by how Zac spoke to her in front of Tony. They all looked at Fatima's shirt. Zac: Tony what the fuck man stop looking at her like that. Hitting him across the chest.
Fatima started to say something but their arguments have been heated and with Tony there she knows that Zac would take offense to it. She stared at Zac for a few moments and turned around and went back upstairs. With tears in her eyes she called Angela back.
Fatima: hey, we going to that couples retreat, because if we don't I'm going to kill him before I marry him.
