When Gajeel opened his eyes everything was way too bright for him. His head was spinning even if he laid down on some kind of bed. Which was weird since he clearly didn't remember owning anything this soft and comfortable.

Urg his last battle was way too intense for his body...Why did Jose want to fight with Fairy Tail, seriously it was such a dumb idea. The dragon slayer made a last effort and opened his eyes for good this time only for him to notice he didn't know this place. Next to him was a sleeping Juvia and in another bed was Totomaru, covered in bandages and asleep too. What was going on?

All of his body hurted and for a moment he hoped Salamander was in pain too. It wouldn't be fair that he was the only one suffering here. A glass of water had been left on the little table next to him so he drank it after smelling it to check for any poison or weird substance. Suddenly a very little old man came into the room.

Gajeel gulped and hurried to put himself between the old man and his friends. He knew who it was, as Jose's right hand he was supposed to know how the master of Fairy Tail looked.

"I see you're awake Gajeel. It's a good thing, your friend Juvia has been waiting for two days now." Makarov said with an expression Gajeel couldn't analyze.

The dragon slayer started growling at the old man with his claws out. What was going on? Why was he here? Where are they, in Fairy Tail? Why? Maybe the old man wanted some revenge but if that was the case Juvia and Totomaru shouldn't pay for his actions. He was the one who crucified the two Fairy Tail wizards, not them!

"Look old man if you want to punish me okay no problem but leave my friends out of this!"

"I have no intention of punishing you. I want to talk, you think you can manage that?"

Gajeel looked at the guild master a little lost, he didn't understand anything. Why did he want to talk instead of punishing him for the damage and people he hurted? Still, on guard the dragon slayer nodded to the old man, ready to listen to what he could have to say to him.

"Levy, Grey, and Lucy vouch for you and your friends. For them, Jose caused you three a lot of suffering and forced you to attack us. I want to hear what you have to say about this."

Gajeel looked at the old man in front of him with apprehension. It was a good opportunity for them, they could quit Phantom Lord, and they could start a new life! He couldn't mess with this chance.

"Jose he...he..."

What was going on? He was ready to talk a few seconds ago, he wanted to! Nobody was forcing him! Why couldn't he even say a word? His throat was blocked and he could feel his heartbeat increasing, even breathing was harder than before. He never talked of Jose to anyone but it shouldn't be that hard right?

More scales started to appear on his body and some were even growing on his face. What was so hard in this that made him feel like that? He was wasting his chance! Makarov wasn't saying anything at all, just watching the scales covering his body more and more. When he suddenly put his hand on Gajeel's shoulder, the dragon slayer jumped and tried to get away.

"Kid it's okay. He's not here and he won't be near you anymore. Right now he's been judged for his crime. Abusing his guildmember thanks to his master's power cannot be forgiven."

"If you know what he did why are you asking?" Gajeel hardly said to the guild master.

"I wanted to know your opinion on this if it was really because he forced you that you attacked us. I guess it is seeing your reaction."

Gajeel nodded but avoid looking at him. It was at this moment that his little fairy decided to come into the room. She had a basket with food, water bottles, and medicine in it.
