Cali was on her way to her hair salon to pick up the hair stylists payments then she was going to be on her way to work.
"Hey Cali." The girls greeted as she walked into the salon.
"Hey. How's everything?" Cali asked stopping to talk.
"Good. You know it's always busy." One of the hair stylist commented.
"That's good. I'll be in the office." Cali said and walked to the back where her office was.
She unlocked the door and shut it back behind her. She sat down and opened the mail which contained bills for the salon. She put them in her purse making a note to herself to pay them once she got home.
Soon after one by one, the hair stylist started to come in paying their rent booth. Since Cali's hair salon was popular the rent wasn't cheap. She made sure to give a fair and reasonable price though.
"Oh this the money from the hair we sold this week." She said and gave Cali the 6,000 thousand from the hair.
"Thanks. A new shipment should be coming in this evening. I won't be here because I have work so can you handle it for me?"
"Yea I got you Cali."
After finishing everything up at the shop she made her way to work. She had to meet with two of her clients about potential opportunities to make them some money. She was hoping they would go through with it because she had a daughter to take care of.
It was now 7:30 when Cali got off from work. She was getting her share from her clients so she was in a good mood.
"Hey Kay." Cali said once she answered the phone.
"You off from work yet?"
"Yea I'm off. What's up?"
"So tomorrow we going out. Don't even make an excuse either."
"Kay where you thinking about going?"
"Club Diamond. It's the grand opening so we need to be out." Cali thought it over. She haven't been out in a while but she was always a mother first.
"Kay I don't know. I have Kylie."
"That's why she have a father and uncles. You're going and that's final. See you tomorrow at 9 be ready. Love you, bye." Kay said then hung up.
Cali chuckled, her best friend was something else. She was going to go out and have a little fun. She been stressed out and she didn't need that especially at a young age.
Cali drove to her brother house to pick up Kylie. Forty- five minutes later she was there and waiting at the front door for him to open it.
"What's up Cali." HJ said once he opened the door.
"Took you long enough punk." Cali said pushing him out the way so she can step in. She looked around and noticed a figure of a man sitting on her brothers couch. He didn't turn around as he was into whatever he was doing.
"Shut up." HJ said and mushed her head lightly.
"Where Kylie?" Cali asked turning back around to her brother.
"Ky Ky your mother here!" HJ yelled. A second later you heard her feet coming down the steps with her mini Nike duffel bag.
"Hi mommy." Kylie said giving her mother a hug.
"Hi, you ready?" Kylie nodded her head yes.
"See you later Uncle HJ."
"See you Ky Ky. I'll bring your gift to you tomorrow."
"Ok." Cali grabbed Kylie's hand.
"Thanks for watching her."
"No problem. Text me when you make it home."
"I will. I love you." Cali opened the door.
"I love you too." HJ responded and shut the door after he seen Cali get into her car.

"So what's happening?" Maurice asked his team.
"We got someone trying to bring his business here into our territory."
"What's his name?"
"He go by Trill, we don't know his real name."
"Have he made a move yet?"
"Nah, but he got some goons on the street and they talk. He trying to set up shop over east and north."
"We'll just be on the lookout for now, we got to think smart. We don't want no unnecessary problems." Maurice spoke.
Maurice was in the streets but he wasn't in the streets heavy. He didn't want to cause beef when it could've been avoided.
After finishing up there he made his way to Cali house. He haven't spoken to her all day or seen his daughter. Even though it was 12 he was still going.
"Speak." Maurice said into the phone.
"Hey baby, you coming by tonight?"
"What I tell you about that baby shit. Nah Ken I'm not coming by."
"Why not? I haven't-." Maurice hung up on her not wanting to hear the ranting. He got enough of that from Cali he didn't need his side piece doing the same.
After unlocking the door he stepped in the house.
"How many times I got to tell her about this shit." Maurice said to himself. Cali kept forgetting to turn on the alarm system.
He locked the door and turned the system on. He walked up the steps and opened Cali room door. On the bed was Cali and Kylie both sleeping. He chuckled to himself, Kylie was really spoiled.
He stepped into the bathroom and took his clothes off changing in a pair of shorts he had kept at the house. He climbed in the bed and wrapped his arms around Cali. She shoved his arms off of her.
"What's up with you." Maurice said bringing his arms back around her.
"Why do you think you can come over anytime you want?" Cali said turning around in his arms.
"I wanted to see y'all. Imma try and do right. Aight?" He said and gave her a kiss.
"Ok, I love you Maurice but you can't keep doing this."
"I know baby. I love you too, give me a hug." Cali wrapped her arms around him and snuggled into his chest.
Maurice needed to change his act fast before its too late.
