Tw: drugs, OD
Short chapter! Don't worry I'll be back soon.
Also omg?! I love Eddie and Robin as besties 👯‍♂️

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

It had been hours since Eddie had shuffled off to bed, leaving Robin alone, fighting sleep. Her fingers tented, weaving and unweaving over and over again as she forced her eyelids to close. Her socked feet brushed together rhythmically, keeping time with her nonstop humming. Her lips raw and chapped from obsessive chewing.

Robin sprung up, thinking maybe a glass of water would help. She didn't dare to look at the clock as she passed by, not wanting to know how fucked she was going to be tomorrow. Quietly she opened the cabinet, grabbing a glass and turning on the cold tap. Yes there was water in the fridge, but there was something so refreshing about a night time gulp of water from the sink. She closed her eyes letting the cool liquid trickle down her throat, soothing the dry, scratchy patches. The stainless steel of the kitchen sink clinking against the glass cup as she gingerly sat it down.

Her feet carried her down the hall, telling herself she was just going to the bathroom, but she passed it. Padding across the carpet with an unwanted, ill-planned purpose. Eddie's door was cracked, a gap big enough for her to slip through without touching the door. Robin took a moment to peer inside, seeing her friend  in a heap on the bed. His hair covered his face, sweaty ringlets glue to his forehead, the only visible facial feature was his gaping mouth from which snore after snore came tumbling out. His arms at either side of his head, legs twisted at a strange angle as he slept on his stomach. She approached slowly, she just needed to cover him back up.

Robin hovered over his limp frame, staring down, willing him to stay asleep while she bent down. Her knees loudly cracking as they met the carpet, her head snapping up to search for any sign of him waking. She held her breath. Expecting a monstrous smell from his open, drooling mouth, cringing as she invaded his personal space. Her nose resting on the side of bed, just her eyes and forehead visible. Squinting and trying to focus her eyes on Eddie's teeth. Not finding a trace of evidence at the angle, her arm snakes stealthily, hovering just barely off the sheets. She gasped at herself, surprised as if her arm had a mind of its own. Her pointer finger making contact with his top lip, pushing gently, making his face twitch. He nose scrunched up, a soft grumble leaving his throat.

Robin sucked a large breath in, hissing through her teeth, eyes flying open. Hands hitting the floor behind her as she fell back in disbelief, she was right.

"Mmhm?" Eddie stirred at the noise, raising his eyebrows without prying open his sleepy eyelids.

"Eddie!" She whisper shouted, "Eddie hey!" She prodded at his arm his skin flexing over the muscles beneath.

"Huh? Sometin' wrong?" He sleepily answered, no real concern in his voice.

"Yes! Something is wrong!" She frantically shoved him, grabbing him by the shoulder and tossing him on his side.

"Buckley!" His grumpiness extremely evident in his tired grumble. He rubbed his face with both hands, digging into the corners of his eyes with his bent knuckles. The light from the window's crookedly pulled curtains bounced off his rings as he patted the empty space beside him.

"What do you want?" He mumbled, lips barely parting.

"How long ago? How long since those people left you on that couch?" She frantically smacked his arms, trying to wake him up faster.

"Shit!" His voice cracking as he swatted away her hands. "I dunno! Like 10ish yesterday? Why?" He whined, his nose scrunched as he clamped his eyes shut.

"How are you not withdrawing after your OD?" She asked softly, a stark change from her frenzied voice just moments before.

Eddie shrugged his shoulders, clasping his hands over his eyes before sucking in a deep breath. "I dunno I'm not a doctor. I hadn't even thought bout it." He scoffed, "If by some miracle I get lucky enough that I don't withdraw, I'll eat my fucking belt."

"So you don't think it's strange?" She asked quietly.

"What would you rather me have the shakin' screamies?" He shot her a mean glance before cracking a grin.

"No!" She stutters "I mean! Maybe!" Her hands flew up, falling on her thighs with a smack.

"What the fuck Rob?" She had Eddie's full attention now, "god if you wanted someone to take care of I'd 'ave hit Vickie with my fucking van."

"No! No! It's not that, I'm just worried about you." She said trying her best to reassure him.

"You and everyone else." He huffed, flipping back onto his pillow with a thud.

"Eddie." Pleading with him to look up.

"What?" He eyes her suspiciously.

"Get up." Standing and waving her arms to usher him out of bed. "Look at yourself." She pointed to the mirror.

"Aw fuck if this is one of those 'look at yourself and picture the you that you want to be' bits can't it wait till morning?" He squealed in frustration.

"No! Just do it!" Exasperated Robin crossed her arms across her chest.

He clamored out of bed. Stumbling the two steps and turning to look at himself in the mirror. Shooting her an angry glance through the mirror.
"Well fuck." Robin mumbled under her breath. Chewing her fingers anxiously.

"Now what? What's the new mantra?" He sneered, not really meaning his words to have such venom. The shameful look on Robins face softening his demeanor.
"Hey Buckley I'm sorry. I'm just grumpy." He shuffled his feet to point in her direction.

"No don't," she held up her hand, Eddie thinking she was in the verge of tears as she doubled over, hands flying to her face. To his utter surprise she laughed, a hysterical giggle.
His jaw hanging slack as he tried to make sense of this confusing conversation. She spoke through broken giggles, "I fucking! I thought you.... Had, fangs!" She snorted, looking up at him as she cackled at herself, "vampires can't see themselves in mirrors!" She thumped herself on the forehead as Eddie's eyes became impossibly wider.

He spun around, throwing himself at his dresser. Smacking one hand on the mirror and the other prying up his lip, exposing his gums and teeth. "Hey!" He jumped at the sight of himself. "Fuckin- hey! Rob." She whipped her head up, tears of laughter streaking her face, her happy expression quickly leaving as her cheeks lost color.
"What the fuck dude? Did you fuck with my teeth? How do I get this off!" He rubbed and his gums shooting her an angry glare. "Best damn set of fucking Halloween fangs I've ever seen." He turned back to the mirror, scratching widely at the enamel, Robin watching in horror.

"Eddie?" She tried to speak through the shakiness in her voice. He was frantic, running his hand through his hair, breathily heavily and bouncing on his toes while baring his teeth in the mirror, staring at himself.

"What did you do?" His voice going up an octave, cracking at the end, "Rob?" He looked at her through the mirror, meeting her gaze.

"I-I didn't," she stammered backing up.

"What did you do! Is this super glue?" He raised his voice, but Robin could tell, he knew it wasn't. Tears filled his eyes and he sniffled, rubbing his nose against his arm.

"Munson, I swear! I didn't do anything!" She shook her hands nervously, biting her lips.

"Can you," he breathed deeply opening his mouth and waving her over. "Can you- can you check?" A silent tear streaking his face and Robin tentatively stepped forward, the tip of her finger grazing the one of the exposed fangs. She shivered, the moment being so surreal. Thoughts swirling, she was pulled out of her stupor by Eddie's voice. "So?"

All Robin could do was stand with her mouth agape, rubbing her forehead vigorously, leaving a red streak from the friction. Her eyes wide with terror, as she fiercely nodded. Her friend returning the nod slowly before gulping, his Adam's apple bobbing dryly in his throat.

"That's so fucking metal."
