Elaine's POV

We woke up early this morning, waking up with the sun. There wasn't much choice with all the light coming in.

"It should be starting soon." I hear Edward state to Bella. Seth had joined us earlier to protect us, Jake was going to join the others soon and I could tell Bella is on edge.

" Don't worry," Edward continues, I look up from the book I was trying to finish, "Everything is going to be okay, Mrs. Cullen." He grabs onto her hand, looking for our mother's ring. She hadn't worn it today. She explained to me it was a mixture of things. One, she didn't want to lose it. Two, she wanted Jacob to have a clear head for the battle ahead.  She smiles at him but it is short-lived.

"You're marrying him?" I hear Jacob yell from directly to the right of me.

I flinch a little at this, not realizing how close he is. I slowly stand, not wanting to put any attention on myself. Edward looks up at me a little concerned. He's probably thinking the same thing I am, or he read my thoughts and is now thinking about them. Please don't wolf out right next to me right now, I keep chanting over and over in my head.

I creep to the side just in time for Jacob to throw his fit and then storm in the other direction, Bella following. Edward tries to stop her, knowing he is dangerous in this state. I let her go, knowing this is something she needs to do.

I walk over to where Edward is. "What the hell. Why did you think that was a good idea to do that right now?"  I ask.

He sighs and shakes his head. "You need to go call Carlisle, he wasn't happy with the fact you decided to only get an hour of sleep last night." He looks me in the eyes and I roll mine.  I do listen, not wanting to be in the middle of the craziness between him and Jacob. I pull myself onto the rocks and pull out my phone. Carlisle had sent me a couple of texts he knew I wouldn't get until I got back to a place with reception.  They were saying calming things, things that would help me if I was feeling overwhelmed this morning.

I hit his contact and don't even have to wait for half a ring for an answer.

"Hello? Elaine?"

I smile, hearing his voice.

"Hello, Carlisle. I am so sorry I didn't call earlier. I was reading."

He sighs on the other side of the phone. In all honesty, I wasn't reading. I was recovering from the one hour of sleep I did have. The same nightmare, I have had it countless times now. It's always the same thing, the night of the accident. There was no need in telling Carlisle this and making him off his game. He needed to focus.

" Edward said it was a long night. Care to explain?"

There was an edge to his voice, and in my head, I was calling Edward every bad name in the book, though I am sure he wasn't having the most fun right now as it is.

" It was cold and not the most comfortable. Plus, Edward and Jacob weren't staying quiet. They kept talking about their undying love for Bella." I roll my eyes as I say it.

He sighs again, not wanting to fight today. There would be enough fighting later.

"Tonight, after the battle, we need to get a full eight hours of rest."

Now it's my turn to sigh but I agree, I am exhausted.

Carlisle's POV

We enter the field where the battle is to take place. Alice says the army will be here within the next ten minutes. Jasper and Alice are talking about some random fashion article she read in some magazine, he twirls her around gracefully. Rose and Emmett are looking to the other side of the field in anticipation, waiting silently, holding onto each other's hands tightly.  Esme and Derick are making quiet remarks about their wedding, talking a little about the music they should play.
