Chapter 4;Brother, Sister Bonding Time

Elaine's POV
I laid on the couch in my office waiting for Edward to return from yelling at Bella.
Carlisle had to go back to the hospital to work a double shift which left me with a house of rowdy Teenage vampires. I didn't mind though. They were actually pretty mature for their age, I mean they are actually pretty old, but still.
I sat up and looked at my desk of paperwork that was left from when I was going to school, I needed to clean this place up.
I didn't even know we're to start.
I sigh at the mess and begin to stare at space again.
My mind goes to Violet. She's been acting a little off lately.
I don't know now what it is.
Maybe she's is still trying to get use to her new home and family.
I know how that is.
Finally I hear a thud and look up to see Edward standing there with messed up hair.
He looks like a super model to anyone who doesn't know what he is. But to me, he looks tired, and I know something is bothering him.
I smile and say,
"Rough night?"
He rolls his eyes and sits down on the couch next to me.
He sits back.
"You don't know the half of it."
I chuckle.
"So I'm taking it things didn't go over well with Bella?"
He doesn't say anything, but I know that's what happened.
"What did she say?"
"Just basically that she's not going to listen to me, and that she is going to go hang out with that dog no matter what."
I laugh again.
"You need to give her some space, Edward. I mean she's 18 she'll be friends with who she wants to be friends with."
He rolls his eyes,
"Cause Carlisle doesn't make you stay away from Sam?"
"That's different."
I snap.
"How, Lane?"
I stand up and begin walking around the room.
"I don't want to be friends with Sam."
Edward makes a little laughing noise,
"Yeah, but you still go to that Rez every chance you get."
"For Emily!"
I say a little louder than intended.
"Okay, but still you end up coming home with a broken wrist and a messed up jaw."
He snaps.
I stop my pacing.
This is ridiculous, Carlisle and I are none of Edward's business and Edward and Bella are non of mine.
Still it's so hard to try and separate our lives from each other.
He's my little brother, I am always going to be protective of him.
I sigh.
"I'm sorry that I snapped at you."
I whisper.
His face seems to get a little calmer.
"I'm sorry I snapped at you too. I shouldn't have. It's not your fault that Bella needs to go and hang out with that mutt."
"Hey, be careful what you call Jake. He's actually not that bad. And he was here for Bella when you weren't. Don't let yourself forget that."
His face washes over with a little but of pain, but then it turns into understanding.
"Yeah I know. I'll regret leaving her for the rest of eternity."

Bella's POV
I roll around in my bed, trying to find a comfortable position.
I can't believe Edward was that mad over something so stupid.
I don't know what I'm going to do if he gets that mad every time I go to see Jake. If I ever go to see jake again.
What he said earlier was horrible.
He wishes that I would die rather than become one of them.
How could he say that to me?
I sigh and decide that I'm not going to get any sleep tonight.
I pick up my phone and call the only number I can think to call at a time like this.
"Hello?"
Elaine says I a drowsy voice and I immediately feel bad for waking her up.
"Hey Lane sorry for waking you,"
I say,  I hear her yawn and then she says,
"No Bells, it's perfectly fine, I have been sleeping for a while now anyways. What's up?"
She asks, starting to sound a little more awake.
"Nothing, just can't sleep, I was wondering if you wanted to come over, maybe watch a movie or something."
I say,
Lane laughs.
"I'm guessing the reason you want me to come over there instead of coming over here because Eddie boy is being a jerk?"
She's very observant.
"How'd you guess?"
I ask,
She just chuckles.
"Trust me, I know you. I'll be there in ten."
She says and hangs up the phone.
I sit up in my bed and look around my dark room, waiting for my blonde friend to get here.

Violet's POV
I sneak back into the Cullen's house, I was having a meeting with Victoria when we were so rudely interrupted by those stupid dogs.
Good thing none of them saw me.
I wouldn't want that Sam to see me and go running to Elaine.
I finally make it to my room and sit in my bed.
Victoria wants me to bring Elaine and the human girl to her by the weeks end. I don't think it will be too hard.
Elaine would do anything for her children.
My thoughts were  interrupted by a noise in the hall.
I opened my door to see Elaine walking down the hall with he coat and shoes on.
I smile at her.
"Hey sweetheart," she smiles.
I smile back and say in the sweetest voice possible,
"Hey mom, where you going?"
"Just to Bella's wanna come?"
She asks.
Perfect.
"Yeah I would love to just give me some time to get dressed."
I say and she nods,
"I'll be waiting downstairs."
She walks down the stairs and I smile tom myself.
Now I can finally take them to Victoria and be back with my real family.
This nightmare will be over.
