I straighten out my pink dress. I can't stop thinking about Violet and the strange disappearance. Rose and I had talked about it last night, and she told me a theory.
She doesn't think it was actually Violet. Although it was hard to believe, I have to think about it.
I shake my head, this was not a time to think about that, but a time to celebrate my baby brother and best friend graduating high school. A day I never thought would happen.
I curl my hair so it looks half decent, and put some concealer under my eyes to make me look less dead.
Carlisle walks in our room as I am putting some pearl earrings on.
He wraps his arms around my waist.
"Are you sure you're up to this? You didn't sleep very well last night." Carlisle whispers in my ear. I lean into him, taking in his smell. He smells like home.
"I'm okay. I've been waiting for this day for a hundred years. Well, this day and next Saturday."
I say with a smirk at the end.
Next Saturday was May 17, our wedding day.
"Yeah? Are you excited, Miss Mason?"
He asks, tightening his grip around me.
I smirk, breathing him in.
"Beyond excited. Maybe on our wedding night, I can get you to touch me in a not so nice matter again."
I make my voice playful.
Carlisle hasn't touched me in an intimate matter since the accident.
"I just wanted to be careful, love."
I can't blame him for trying to be careful.
"Yeah, I know. Let's go. We're gonna be late."
Carlisle reluctantly lets me out of his grip. I grab my handbag and we walk out of our bedroom and down the stairs.
The others have gone before us so they can save us seats. I get into the passengers side of the car, and Carlisle gets in the driver side.
We drive towards the high school, talking about the weather and the wedding that's coming up.
Carlisle still hasn't seen the dress. I covered it from him.
I can't wait for him to see it.
We get to the school and head to the gym.
Emmett and Rose saved us seats. I smile at them and sit down next to Rose, as Carlisle sits down next to me.
"How you feeling?" Rose asks.
"Same as always. My head is pounding, but I'm good. Excited to see him cross the stage."
Rose smiles back at me and puts her arm around my shoulders.
"I hope you start to feel better, mama."
Then, the ceremony starts. A few speeches are given, one by Bella's friend, Jessica. Then the names are read aloud.
They get to Edward, and I scream loudly. He smiles over to me, holding his diploma and pointing at it, just like I had always imagined. I was so proud. I cheer just as loud for Alice who looks like she's trying very hard not to think about something. Then Bella, who is blushing so bad he head looks like a tomato.
The ceremony finishes, and we go to meet Edward. We see him talking to Bella. Carlisle and I go outside to wait. For May, it's pretty cold outside. I hug myself to keep warm.
Carlisle takes off his black blazer, and puts it over my shoulders. I hug it tightly around me.
Edward walks outside with Alice.
" I wasn't going to tell you that during graduation!"
She shrieks.
Edward rolls his eyes.
"What's going on here?" Carlisle asks, looking between them.
"Bella has a theory she shared with Alice. It sounds pretty possible. Alice decided it would be a good idea to hold off on telling me."
I raise an eyebrow.

Carlisle's POV
Elaine raises her eyebrow,
"What's the theory, Ali?"
Alice rolls her eyes,
"I was going to share after the ceremony. I just didn't want to worry anyone. Bella thinks the nomad is working with Victoria, but that she's staying out of the decision chair so I can't see her."
Elaine's eyes widen. I am shocked. I never really thought about it like that.
" Bella is a very smart girl." I whisper as I look at the shocked Elaine.
"That she is. We need to start thinking of a plan, just in case this theory of hers isn't just a theory."
Lane says confidently.
Edward and Alice nod, but if I am being honest to myself, I don't want Elaine getting any ideas that she's going to be fighting this army with us. She's practically human! We have no idea why, just a huge book that says she was meant for great things. She can't fight with the rest of us, she could get hurt, or worst. She could get killed.
"Carlisle, darling," she says softly, "We should get going back to the house to make sure everything is ready for the party."
I nod and follow her back to the car. All the kids are going hunting to withstand the teenagers who will soon be pouring out of our house. I went this morning, and Elaine hasn't been craving blood since our little tyrant to Italy. Alice promises she'll be back in an hour to decorate, and they all take off to the woods.
We get into our car, but Lane's mind seems to be somewhere else.
She's watching a mom, straightening her daughters yellow graduation robe.
A hint of sadness shines in her eyes as she tears herself away. She shakes her head.
"The color of the robes were hideous." She sneers, trying to cover up what I know she's thinking about.
Violet's graduation day.
"I agree, love. Could they have picked an uglier shade of yellow?"
I make a face like I am gagging to make her laugh.
It's successful, and Elaine is chuckling.
Then she goes silent.
"I'm not ready for this war. What if something happens to one of the kids?"
Elaine looks at me with worry in her eyes.
I sit there and think for a moment of what would be the best thing to say.
"I don't know what's going to happen, but I do know, that we're all going to be okay."
Elaine smiles a little, then nods.
I start the car, and we're on our way home.
"You excited for the party?"
She asks trying to make conversation.
"Oh yeah, we're gonna get lit."
She looks at me in shock, and I smirk, trying to be hip.
Shaking her head vigorously, she stammers,
"Lit? Where did you hear that expression? And why the hell would you use it?"
She asks already cracking up.
I chuckle too, and say,
"I'm the cool dad, didn't you know?"
She continues to laugh, but stops all of a sudden.
I look to see if she's okay, but she's staring at this one spot on the side or the road. This is where her car wrecked.
"Elaine?"
I ask, seeing the vacant look on her face.
I try again but she doesn't answer. Frightened, I stop the car  a little after the spot and shake her.
She snaps out of it almost immediately.
"There was glass- so so much glass. It was cold outside and I- I'm screaming."
She starts.
I look at her wide eyed, knowing what's happening.
She's remembering.
