Chapter Three of Legendary

"So... Now what?" I ask, scratching the back if my neck. "Well, would you like to join our pack?" Darren asks with hope in his eyes. "Sure." I answer excitedly. They get up and start walking to the back of the house.

I hurry and chase after them. "We can do this ritual and then you can start your transforming if you'd like. We'll be by your side every step of the way." Luke assures me. I see Darren take out a big sharp knife from one of the cupboards.

I shiver. "You okay?" Darren asks me as he walks closer. I back up as he nears me. "Oh Scarlett, it's okay." He says. I breath.

As I continue to back away, a wall hits my back. I breath heavily again and hold out my wrist. I hear Darren gasp, he probably sees the cuts I put on myself. "Why'd you do it?" He asks softly, racing his fingers over my cuts.

"The same reason everybody else does. Depression. I haven't had an easy life you know." I say, starting out strong and ending in just above a whisper. I hear him sigh.

I feel the large blade cut softly through my fresh skin. I let out a soft whimper. I open my eyes and I see blood. I close my eyes again. I feel another wrist resting on mine.

"The blood's being mixed." Darren says. After a minute he pulls away and I open my eyes. Luke is at the sink cleaning the blade and Darren is out of sight. "Are you alright? You look a little pale Scarlett." Darren says, walking back into the room with a box.

I jump back a bit and my back presses the wall again. He seems to notice my sudden fright and stops. He gives me an apologetic look and then I nod, telling him I'm okay.

"So, now that you're part of the pack, you're able to mind link with anybody in the pack. You can talk to one individually or everybody. It's pretty simple. Just try." Darren says placing the box on the kitchen counter.

What's the box for? I say, trying to forward it to Darren.

I see a smile creep it's way onto his face.

You did it. Anyway, it's just some bandages for our wrists. Us wolves heal fast, and for a cut like this it'll take about an hour.

I look down at my wrist. There's nothing there, except for a small scar.

Uh, Darren? Mines already completely healed. I start to panic a bit.

Really? That's great. I guess these are just for myself then.

I watch as he cuts some cloth and wraps it around his wrist. He ties it in a tight not and then shoves the first aid box in a drawer.

"Scarlett, you may sleep in the guest bedroom for as long as you'd like." Darren said happily. I nod. "May I go back to my home to get my stuff? I mean... If I'm staying here." I awkwardly.

"Of course. I'll come with you." He says and we go out of the kitchen. He opens the front door for me and I blush as I step out. He closes and locks the door behind himself.

I hear the clashing of keys and a car beep. I go to the passenger door, open it, and close it when I'm inside the vehicle. He starts the car and backs out of the large driveway. His car thunders down the road and into the city.
