Summary:
Y/n a student being taught underneath Belos gets to be have a mentor to help them with joining the bard coven.

A CHILD WITH h/c hair happily watches outside their window as a ceremony for the new head bard witch is being held below them.
The little witch grins in excitement as they watch the new upcoming head of the bard coven walk on stage.

"Uh... I am honored to work with Emperor Belos in preparation for the Day of Uni-bee- I mean, Uni-ly! I mean— uh— oh, no this is going all wrong, get me outta here!" The teal headed witch exclaimed as they ran off the stage in embarrassment.

The child watching from their window giggled at what they just witnessed. "I hope to be like you one day Raine Whispers!" the said child exclaimed happily. They then moved away from their window and grabbed their violin and it's bow from a shelf in their room.
The e/c child then sat on their bed and started to carefully play a tune they have heard before on their violin, as they did a soft hue of warm colors brightened up their room, making objects and their hair fly in the process.

While playing the violin the child had a look of calm expression as they played the violin, the little witch got so zoned into playing their violin that they didn't hear footsteps coming near their room. A loud slam of a door opening scares the little witchlet, making them yelp and stop playing their violin. This made the child huff in anger.
"At least knock first, I was practicing on my violin-" the child cut themselves off as they saw Emperor Belos was standing in their door. The little witch pales as they noticed his angered expression. "Watch your tone underling, I've come to tell you that your mentor is here". Belos stated as he looked at the child underneath his imitating mask.

The child nodded their head quickly, "I'm sorry Emperor Belos I didn't mean to-" the child was hushed by a vine that stopped directly at their throat, causing them to tense and slowly look up at Belos. "You kneel before addressing me, now get ready to meet your mentor. Do I make myself clear Y/n?" Belos asked as the vine retreated back underneath his cloak(?) Y/n kneeled as they looked away and nodded. "Yes Emperor Belos."

After hearing that Belos left the room allowing Y/n to let out a breath of relief and get ready to meet their mentor. "I should practice before they get here." the little witchlet mumbled to themselves as they grabbed their violin and bow and continued from where they left off.

A different hue had spread across the room, instead of warm it was cool colors that darkened the room, objects floated as did Y/n's hair. But their expression was everything but calm and it reflected through their music. Y/n started to play faster on their violin making the objects that are floating slowly start spinning in a circle, faster Y/n played the faster the objects would move.

Y/n then let out one final note that was powerful enough to send the objects fly across the room. "Woah!" A voice yelped causing Y/n to once again stop playing the Violin and look in the direction of where it came from.
The voice belonged to Raine Whispers, who was standing in Y/n's doorway while leaning back up after ducking their head from one of the flying objects. Y/n quickly hopped off of their bed and put their violin down to greet the new head witch of bard coven.

"I'm so sorry! I got caught up in the moment, I didn't mean to almost hit you-" Y/n apologized and started to ramble, causing Raine to chuckle gently put a hand on 11 year olds shoulder. "Hey it's okay, you know this used to happen to me when I was around your age." Raine stated with a soft tone of voice.
Y/n looked at Raine in confusion and surprise, "But you're the head witch of bard coven, you're amazing at this!" the child beamed making Raine smile at them. "There's no way you were an underling like me." Y/n mumbled intending for Raine not to hear but they did.

Raine looked at Y/n with an worried expression before picking up the child's violin, "I wasn't always great at bard's magic, in fact if I couldn't do it I would've been in the healing coven instead." Raine said with a fond smile on their face. "Really?" Y/n asked not sure if they believe Raine or not. Raine nodded and gently played different chords on Y/n's violin.

"In playing an instruments as a bard it contains most of our emotions, they key is to try to stay calm or not. Depends on how you want your magic to effects those around you." Raine started to explain, "For instance if I wanted you to walk around you room all I have to do is focus and.." Raine plucked a string causing Y/n to get up, Raine plucked another which made Y/n walk around their room.

"Woah that's so cool!" Y/n beamed making Raine smile right back at the child before giving Y/n back their violin. "Here let's try it together okay?" Raine said as they summoned their violin. Y/n nodded waited for Raine to start the melody, Y/n was going to follow right behind them.
Raine closes their eyes and starts playing some lullaby type of tune and Y/n slowly starts playing what they think sounds right with the lullaby. As they played together Y/n focused more and more on trying to stay calm as they played their violin.

Raine stopped playing and was about to say something but stopped themselves when they saw that little Y/n was having a mini solo with their violin. Y/n finished off their moment with one strong wave of their chord that gently put any objects that were floating back down.
Raine clapped their hands with a proud smile, "Good job little bard, I knew you could do it!" they congratulated making Y/n look at them with a big smile.

Y/n got up and grabbed two juice boxes that they had snagged from the kitchen earlier and gave one of them to Raine. "Here's a juice box for hydration." the little witchlet stated before taking a sip of their juice, only to gag from it.
"Ugh how do you mess up juice?" the child questioned making Raine laugh.

"Wanna see a trick I taught myself when I was younger?" Raine asked making Y/n nod. Raine motioned for Y/n's juice, reluctantly Y/n handed it over and watched Raine whistle near the straw. Raine then handed it back to Y/n who looked back at them unsure, "Don't worry, I didn't spit in it." Raine stated. Y/n took a sip of the juice then immediately drunk the rest of it. "Wow that tasted amazing! How did you do that?" Y/n asked in astonishment.

Raine chuckled, "It takes a bit of practice, here you try." Raine handed Y/n their juice, Y/n looked at Raine with uncertainty before trying to whistle in the same tune Raine did. Y/n then handed it back anxiously.
Raine took a sip of the juice and gave a thumbs up, "pretty good little bard, unfortunately that was all the time I could use today but I'll teach you more next time-" Raine was cut off by Y/n hugging the bard at the waist.

"Thank you Raine! I promise to be as good as you one day!" Y/n exclaimed as they hugged Raine. The said bard chuckled before hugging Y/n back.

"You're welcome little bard"
