I don't fit in, he signed miserably, tugging at his hair.

"What do you mean?" I asked and signed at the same time, confused.

I'm not normal, and society doesn't accept people like me.

"So what? I accept you. It doesn't matter why they think of you."

But there are so many of those moments, when I just wish that more people could understand me. That more people could love me. I want to be normal, not disabled, he signed before burying his head in his hands in despair.

"You don't to have to be loved widely, Luke. You just have to be loved deeply. Like I love you."

He looked up at me, his eyes shining.

"Oh, and Luke?"

Yeah?

"You're not disabled, or normal. You're special."

Thank you so much for deciding to check my story out. But before you proceed...

Some things I wanna get out of the way:

1) There will be no smut. I'm sorry if that's what you came here for, or were at least expecting a bit of it here. I could recommend you some really good ones, if you want,but sadly, I can't write it. Sorry, guys. _(._.)_

2) Luke is deaf-mute. It's a rare condition, but yeah. Also, I'm trying to research as much as I can, even trying to explain some of the ASL signs figuratively. I apologise in advance for being inaccurate at times. If you find any mistakes, please lemme know, yeah? :-)

3) There could be some plot holes. And I apologise for that. I'm working on fixing them, but then again, apologies :-/

4) Here, no more apologies. Warnings, instead. I will not tolerate anyone insulting Becca, Luke, Rose, Rory, their mum, or anyone that Becca or Luke like. And if you insult Becca or Luke, I will not be quiet about it. I created them. They feel like my children. If you insult my children, I will come after you.

5) Genuine and polite criticism would be A BOON TO ME. Sure, you can be rude about it if you want, but only if you want a hoedown in the comments against me. I overanalyze my work and compare to others enough as it is, I don't need crusty-ass comments from salty people to add to it. But if you do have something to say, please be nice about it. Please? :-3

6) This is a work in progress, ans as I mentioned before, I overanalyze and doubt my words so much. So I will keep editing it regularly, correcting mistakes and plot holes. And this is also my first work on Wattpad that I plan on leaving published. (Yeah, there was one that I wrote when I was 13 that I wrote 13 chapters of and then unpublished the entire thing after reading the first chapter again after a few months. Really, Sunny? Mavis Ardeny? Obama in a tutu? 'Tune-book'? Demelza Kingsleigh? Eurgh.) So I want to make sure it isn't too bad. Bear with me, please?
