"Give it to me I'm worth it, Baby I'm worth it, uh-huh I'm worth it, gimme gimme in worth it!"

I sang horribly while prancing around my room and getting ready. Because, if I didn't listen to music, I'd just spontaneously combust.

I mean, I knew that it probably wasn't even a date and that we were just hanging out, but who wouldn't be nervous?

But I just went with a pair of jeans and graphic tee, and took a jacket, just in case it got too cold. I didn't bother doing anything with my hair except putting it in a ponytail.

I really didn't care why I wore or how I looked. I was just scared if it was going to be awkward between the two of us.

I left the house at 6:15, after explaining to mum and Rose that it was just a friendly meet-up with Luke, not a date. But that didn't mean that I didn't hope that it was a date.

I decided to walk to the mall, since it was just around the corner. The mall Luke and I had decided to meet up at was where I used to spend a lot of my time as a little kid.

Most people went to calm, natural places with trees or a lake or something when they needed to think. But my special place was, yes, a mall. My dad used to bring me here quite often.

After he left, I constantly used to leave home and come here. Whenever I'd get upset, I'd come here. The top floor was supposed to be a game center, but they couldn't get enough money to build one. So it was left as it was, with a few planks still here and there, and completely deserted.

But you could see the whole mall from up there. And I used to get lost in the swirls sea of colours and listen to the babble of noise where everyone's voice drowned out everyone else's.

Shaking my head free of the thoughts, I turned round the corner and sighted the mall. As I walked up to it, I got a text from Luke, letting me know that he'd reached.

When I walked closer, I could see a whiff of l blond hair sticking out of the scattered crowd at the entrance of the mall.

I ran up to him and covered his eyes. He jumped and spun around. I laughed at his wide eyes and shocked expression.

'Did I scare you?' I asked, stifling my chuckle.

'Yes! Of course you did, idiot!' He replied. If it was possible- he signed violently.

'Yes! Success!' I replied, pumping my fists in the air.

He just grinned and shook his head, ruffling my hair.

'It's nice to see you too, Becca,' he signed, an amused expression on his face. 'Wanna go eat some candy?'

Luke and I had raided the entire store. Well, not literally, but we bought three huge bags of candy. 3 extremely massive bags of different types of flavoured mouth-watering deliciousness.

'Wanna try something new?' He asked.

I nodded, asking him to proceed with his 'fun' idea.

He took red-coloured gummy bear out of the bag and placed it in my palm. He then opened his mouth and signalled for me to throw it in.

I aimed at the black hole in front of me. Of course it went in. He smirked at me and raised an eyebrow at me.

'Oh, hell no,' I signed, placing a green gummy bear in his palm and open my mouth wide.

But instead of aiming at my mouth, the doofus ate it himself. He shot up and fled. And I ran after him, yelling. But then, he couldn't hear me. Obviously.

We were sitting on a bench at the the food court. I chased him around the room, until I caught up with him and tackled him to the floor. I lay on top of him for a second, trying to catch my breath. In that second he wriggled over to face me. He freed his arms to try and get me off of him. But I wasn't going down without a fight. Well, I was already on the floor, but still.

After he pushed me off -yes, I lost,- he looked down at me and gave me his hand to pull me up. I was tempted to pull him down with me, but I was getting tired of the floor. So I got up.

For a few moments, we just looked into each other's eyes. His eyes were stunning. They were sky-blue, and looked almost to be glowing. Then we averted our eyes, both of us feeling awkward.

We walked back to our bench, where, thankfully, our bags of candy were still intact.

As we picked up the bags, I had an idea.

'Hey, I wanna show you something.'

He just looked adorably puzzled, like that was even possible.

I just reached for his hand and guided him to the top floor of the mall. As I took his hand...you know those 'Sparks' that they mention in romance novels? Well, I'm not kidding, my whole arm just sort of buzzed with electricity. Or maybe it was just the coldness of his fingers, which I was pretty sure it wasn't.

When we reached, Luke looked puzzled, until I asked him to look down.

The mall was popular one, and you could see huge hoards of people walking around. If always wonder- how many people were in here? What troubled did they face at home? Were they happy? Somehow, these thought used to help me stay sane. Knowing that everyone had their problems and everyone faced them with bravery. And the true beauty of the world, with its different colours and just absolutely stunning sights.

But right now, the sight of Luke bent over the railing, his eyes just sparkling with curiosity and amazement was the most stunning sight of all.

'The sight from here is almost as beautiful as you. But you beat it by eons,' he signed, a sincere look in his eyes.

He reached out to my cheek, brushing away a strand that had come loose from my ponytail. His hand lingered there, caressing my cheek.

Again, this confidence. I did not know how to respond to it. I just blushed the deepest shade of red possibly possible.

'I like to come here when I want to be alone. Whenever I feel upset, I like to come here and think and just...watch. Watch every single person in every crowd, wondering about their life, their problems, their state of mind. And somehow, it helps me calm down. This is sort of like my special place. No one knows about it; not even my best friend, Cooper. But I felt like it was my turn to trust you with a big part of my life, like you trusted me with a big part of yours.'

By the time I was done, he was just looking at me with this really weird expression on his face. It almost looked like...fondness?
He leaned forward, our foreheads now touching, only pulling his hands back to sign just one word.

'Becca.'

That's it. He didn't even continue, just my name. But his expression made up for it.

'Thank you. Thank you for everything. You changed my life, as cliché as it sounds. You helped me within the time I've known you. You make me a better person, Becca. And...I don't think I can ever thank you enough for that.'

I was stunned. That was absolutely beautiful. With sounds or not, voiced or not, every single little word touched my heart. And that's what makes it special. That's what makes him special.

'Thank you, too, Luke. Thank you.' I don't think I could have managed to say more.

Our foreheads touching, Luke reached out for my hands and took them in his. We looked into each other's eyes, for the second time that day.

But we didn't pull away this time. Instead,

Luke pressed his lips against mine.
