"Seriously? You're wearing that," Cooper gestured wildly at my outfit, "On a date? Are you crazy?" He shrieked.

"Yes, and yes, to both. And it's not a date; there's four of us. And we're all not in a polygamous relationship, are we now?" I replied, chuckling dryly.

Dryly not only because of unamused amusement, but also because my throat was parched, but drinking water didn't seem to help. Yeah, it was one of those parched throated dilemmas. Which were, for me, caused due to nervousness.

I mean, not that I was nervous. Pshh, of course not. Definitely not nervous. At all.

"Ugh, trying to get you to dress up is like trying to make me appreciate vaginas."

"You mean impossible is an understatement."

"Damn right it is."

"Well, even if I were to wear something else, I'd just pick out something equally low-key. And don't pretend like you can help me; you have a lesser idea of 'female fashion' than I do," I said, looking down at my loose t-shirt which said 'spunky' in big, bold, cursive letters, with the drawing of a cute dog on it. And, a pair of skinny jeans, along with a beanie.

My fashion sense was impeccable.

And my sarcasm was even more impeccable.

Lets get on with the eight level of Dante's hell- I mean, 'friendly get together with the guy I'm crushing on, sorry- shall we?

"Becca! Damn, I haven't seen you in a long time!" Ashton yelled, lifting me and spinning me around, speaking in a baby-voice. Although how babies would say 'damn', I have no clue whatsoever.

"Ash, we saw each other just last week."

"I know, but I missed you so much!" He replied, still going on with his baby voice act.

Before I could reply, Cooper cleared his throat behind us. Ashton abruptly let go of me, almost making me fall.

After regaining my balance, I turned around to see Luke standing there.

And, oh my god, he looked stunning.

In the dim glow of the street lamp, I could see his cheekbones casting small shadows on his face. A tiny bit of stubble was present on his chin, and his eyes looked darker than usual.

Well, obviously, in the case of physics, it was because there was less light around us, causing his pupils to enlarge, to allow more light to enter. And wait, why am I rambling on about science?

But, speaking in a manner of emotions, he looked slightly hurt, and he looked sad.

I cursed in my head. He just saw Ashton and me in a very, er, compromising position, right the day after Luke and I had kissed.

And, he probably felt left out, as we were all laughing and joking and talking.

That's when I decided. I was not going to leave his side the entire time. Call me a clingy-girlfriend kind of person. But Luke was a lonely person, and anybody could sense that. I could tell that company would do him a lot of good.
