Flashback - A few weeks ago

Her mask seems to cover most of her face, but her eyes are something I can never forget. She looked at me with those pair of innocent eyes as she first succumbed to her climax. No words coming from her except her magnificent moans, a music I will never get tired of listening to.

"Kilala mo ba 'yong babae na nakabangga mo?" tanong ko kay Polaris.

"Taga HR department, si Caelen San Rafael. Madalas 'yan rooftop. Akala ko nga tatalon at magpapakamatay. Naka-kwentuhan ko na din 'yan. Gusto ko nga sana pormahan."

"Why is she there? Bakit siya nasa rooftop?"

"Your Highness, maraming tumatambay sa rooftop. Hindi lahat ay may pambili ng kape na worth one hour of work. Bakit mo naitanong?"

"Coordinate with her supervisor. In case Zackie will not change her mind, I want her to be my secretary."

"Hmmm? Ngayon ka lang ata naging interesado sa babae. Baka nakakalimutan mo, sinabi ko sa kanya na Puppy Love kita?"

"Gago ka kasi! Bakit ko ba ikinakalat na may relasyon tayo?"

"Dude, paano ko makakatambay sa opisina mo kung driver lang ako? At bakit driver ang position ko? Dapat CEO ako!"

"Technically, you are the Direct Heir in charge of my transportation. Hindi ka ba kuntento na ang laki ng sweldo mo bilang driver at chismoso?"

Ngumiti lang si Polaris. Malaki ang sweldo niya kahit driver lang position niya. Sigurado ako na mas prefer niya ang trabahong ito kaysa maging isang boss sa opisina.

Mabilis kami nakarating ni Polaris sa airport dahil sa kanyang mabilis na pagmamaneho. Nakita agad namin si Zackie na nag cocoffee sa isang airport lounge. I was about to approach her, pero mabilis siyang tumayo para iwasan ako nang makita niya kami ni Polaris.

I have no choice but to pursue her.

"Zackie, please. Mag-usap muna tayo," sabi ko sa kanya sabay hawak sa braso niya.

I look like a pathetic boyfriend who wants to stop his girl from leaving. Kung hindi dahil kay Polaris at sa mga First Heirs, hindi ko gagawin ito. Hinila ko si Zackie sa isang corridor na malayo sa mga airport passengers. Polaris kept his distance, pero alam ko na nakikinig siya.

"Von, wala na tayong dapat pag-usapan. I am no longer part of the company effective today. I believe you have received my letter of resignation," she said with her almost broken voice.

"I don't remember accepting it."

"Seryoso ka ba? Are you here to tell me that you are not accepting my resignation at all?"

"Are you expecting me to stop you? Zackie, stop these childish tantrums! Do you think it is rude for you to just go like that? Without any notice? How can you expect me to find a replacement secretary right away?"

Hindi ko na naitago ang inis ko. Wala ako pakialam kung mag-resign si Zackie. Siguro nga mahihirapan ako, pero makakahanap pa rin ako ng kapalit. Siguro nga magagalit ang mga First Heirs, pero sigurado na mapapatawad din nila ako.

I'm just doing this for Polaris.

Napatingin ako kay Polaris kasabay ng pagtaas ng boses ko. He is asking me to calm the fuck down. He knows that Zackie is testing my patience right now and I am not in the mood to argue.

"Von, how can you also expect me to function normally after what happened to us?" tanong ni Zackie na para bang maiiyak na sa anumang sandali.

"Zackie, it is no big deal. We just kissed! Let us not think about it. Can we just forget and move on?"

"No big deal? Wala ka bang puso? I love you, Von! I can no longer work under your command if I have feelings for you!"

I am sure she is making a big fuss about the kiss as she wants me to marry her. Kung may nangyari pa sa amin, mas lalo akong maiipit ako sa kasal.

"Zackie, please let's just keep this thing at a professional level. Your feelings for me will wither soon, believe me. I am not exactly a good man."

"Wow? Is that your way of rejecting me? You're not a good man? My feelings will wither soon? Ganito ba ang linyahan mo sa mga babae mo, Von Dimaculangan?"

I took a deep breath and combed my hair with my fingers. I want to say yes as she is already getting into my nerves, but I can see Polaris' frustrated face from afar.

I am not exactly a patient person, but Polaris is probably expecting me to be nice and gentle to Zackie. I am here to convince her to stay, not to argue with her.

"Look, Zackie. I am really sorry about what happened, but please let us take this slow. Just stay with us for a couple of weeks," sabi ko sabay hawak sa kamay niya.

"Zackie, think about your resignation. Think about your tenurity in the company. And if you really want to go, I will not ask you to stay. Just give us a chance. We need you."

Tumingin ako kay Polaris as if I am asking for his approval if I said the right words to her. Polaris just flashed his satisfied smile when Zackie nodded to me. Tama si Zackie, we can no longer work together kung mahal niya ako at hindi ko kayang suklian ang nararamdaman niya.

I just need her help for the next few weeks while looking for the perfect candidate as my new secretary, but I think I already found a new one.
