NALIA
⚔️⚔️⚔️

I hear birds chirping outside, and I slowly open my eyes.
It's too bright, and instantly I shield the sunlight with my hand, before noticing that it's bandaged.

"What...happened?" I think, trying to sit up, only to feel a sting of pain that's so strong I groan through clenched teeth.
The blanket falls past my chest, making me look down to see that my entire stomach and ribs have been bandaged.

My eyes widen.

Realization slowly sinks in, and I remember.
I remember fighting Corypheus, and him injuring me badly. Then, I managed to kill him...and then, I was talking to Solas?
Everything after that is a blur.

I try to focus on remembering everything else that happened before the door opens, pulling me away from my thoughts.

"You're awake," Leliana comes inside and sits on the edge of my bed, careful not to shake it too much. "How are you feeling?" She asks gently, one hand softly touching mine.

"What happened?" I ask, "we killed Corypheus but...how did I end up here?"
I winch in pain, and Leliana leans forward in an instant, helping me lay down against my pillows.

"You lost a lot of blood, Inquisitor," Leliana says before placing a wet rag to my forehead. "You fell unconscious, so we brought you back to Skyhold and had our healers help you. A rib or two is broken, and the wound on your stomach was deep, so it needed to be stitched."

Oh...shit.

I gulp, already feeling the fear that my stomach has stitches, that I, am stitched... "That's...unwelcoming," I clear my throat, trying to hide my shudders by asking another question.
"how long have I been asleep?"

"Two weeks," she says, setting the rag aside. "We were afraid you wouldn't wake back up."

My heartbeat quickens. "Is Cole-"
"He's fine," she assures me, which makes me sigh a breath of relief. "We all are, thanks to you."
She smiles softly, something I've never seen her do before.

"We all did this," I point out, "together."
A flicker of light catches my attention, and I look to see a table full with flowers, books, and a plate of cookies?

"Wha..." I start to say, before Leliana stands up and approaches the table.
"Nice, isn't it? Everyone gave you gifts. The flowers were Blackwall's idea. And Varric gave you the latest issues of his book," she picks one up, opening it. "I must say, his writing has improved."

She sets it down, reaching for a cookie. "And these are from Sera," she eyes it cautiously. "I wouldn't eat these, though. To be safe."

I giggle softly, staring at everything my friends did. Flowers, books, cookies. It all makes me smile widely. They all really do care about me...it's like a family.

Leliana pulls out a navy blue lace dress that makes me gasp. "This was Vivienne's idea," she says, holding it up for me to admire. "Once your healed, we'll have a celebration party."
That's right...we still need to hold a celebration, in honor of defeating Corypheus.

For the next few minutes, she shows me the rest of the gifts. Iron Bull cleaned and sharpened my daggers, Dorian got me the finest silk in Val Royeaux, Cole made a little flower necklace that I immediately put on because it was so beautiful. Cassandra's gift is a brand new dagger, with the Inquisition branded on its hilt and my name written on the blade.

She mentioned everyone, except...

"Where's Solas?" I ask.
Leliana's gaze falls to the floor. "No one has seen him since the fight against Corypheus. I sent a few of my agents to search, but they've found nothing."
My heart sinks.

He seemed different during those last moment we were together, like he was hiding something, and that Orb was a part of his secret.
I only wish I could've asked him what it was...maybe we could have fixed it together.
But then again, would he have opened up for me?

I sigh, pinching the loose threads in my blanket. Leliana sees my expression change.
"I'm sorry," she whispers, but I shake my head. "You don't have to be, maybe Solas will come back," I say, though it's a hopeless wish.

Leliana stands up and approaches my door. "I will tell everyone of your health. For now, though, get as much rest as you need."

"Thanks Leliana," I say before she leaves my room.
I sigh, turning my head to stare out the window, fingers delicately playing with my flower necklace that Cole made for me.

I can't wait to see him, I wonder how he is? If he's alright, or injured like me?
I smile a little, shutting my eyes.
I can't believe we actually did it... Corypheus is dead.

We're safe...
