Touching skin-to-skin has always been an intimate moment for me. Most likely because I was afraid of it. I was disgusted, and it was always unbearable that a man could touch me. Could it be because of childhood trauma? Definitely, yes. How will I cope with this? Probably only Daniel knows the answer to this question. When he touched me in the most intimate place, I didn't think that my body would react like that. My brain screamed that I should take his hand away, that it wasn't right, but my body wanted his touch. I was wondering what he would do next. Previously, when men tried to touch me, even just hug me, this action caused me a gag reflex, and sometimes panic attacks.

But not this time. Today everything is different. And not just Daniel. But Alistair also behaves differently. I thought he would take the chance to sit down with me and talk, but he preferred the company of a man that he didn't even bother to introduce himself. Why am I surprised? Alistair and his friends are like.

Today, both guys were a distraction for me. As I was able to find out this afternoon, the lawyer who worked for my father died. More precisely, he was killed for betrayal. Well, or most likely for an unfulfilled betrayal. Our father found out earlier that his lawyer preferred Saffron's money for his personal information. The man to whom the father entrusted the most important information betrayed him. I would have laughed if I didn't need this flash drive myself.

"Will you sit with me?" Daniel is not leaving my side tonight. After the auction, an official dinner is held, at which I hoped to get into Saffron's office and hack his personal computer. He most likely communicated with our father's lawyer through his private laptop.

"Actually, I wanted to sit down with Alistair."

"No, you're going to sit with me." Daniel took my hand in his, leading her to the table he had chosen. "Besides, I'm very curious why you had a fight." My eyebrows shot up as soon as I heard this from Daniel. How could he know?

"Don't look at me like that, you're too obvious. You should learn to hide better." I admire and at the same time frighten that Daniel is always one step ahead. " Come on, sit down with me. I promise to be a good boy."

Why does everything he says make me shiver and feel heaviness in my stomach? Especially when he uses his seductive gaze and speaks in his low voice. I want to obey him, if he tells me to kneel in front of all these people, I will most likely do so. And not because he said so, but because my knees are shaking so much that I'll just fall.

When dinner was in full swing and all the toasts were said, I realized that it was time to take steps.

"I'm going to the ladies' room."

"I'm with you." Halfway from getting up, I stared blankly at Daniel, who had already got up to walk me.

"You're acting very strange. Sit back down, I just need to pee." By the way, Daniel is not the only one behaving strangely today. Alistair is also very suspicious.

"I can take you out and wait."

"You can wait here for me, Daniel." I started to boil. Why does he have to be so stubborn? I'm running out of time.

"Only quickly." I frowned but didn't say anything. Something's wrong. I could feel it on my skin. Since childhood, I have felt all sorts of changes in the atmosphere. Even when the weather changes, I change with it.

I walked towards the ladies' room, but then abruptly turned towards Saffron's office. When I examined the house plan, his office was in the left corridor from the women's toilet. While I was walking, I didn't notice a single soul, which calmed my nerves a little. Thanks to my childhood adventures in the mansion, I learned some useful skills so as not to get caught. In fact, there was no need to try very hard at home. Everyone didn't care about me anyway. No one expects any action from a child, especially a female one.
