- Matty -

I hastily put some money on the table for my drink and got up quickly to leave "I need to see her!" I say to Lynn as i begin getting up from my seat. "Go get her loverboy!" she said as I got through the glass doors of the coffee shop and I had no time to scold her. I was on my feet running without even realizing I have.

I was running towards the hotel, I didn't care if Zeke was there, or anyone else was. I needed to tell her. To see her. To hold her in my arms like the first time I drove her home."Matty where are you going?" the receptionist asked but I had no time to talk to her, she knew me by name due to my regular visits, even though I could not actually remember hers.

"Not now!" i yelled running to the stairs, I could not wait for an elevator I  was jogging until I reached his floor, Zeke's. I ran to his room. But the girl receptionist was behind me, running as well.

"Matty," she called again but I ignored her, I was already knocking on his door so hard my knuckles hurt. "Matty, they're not here." she finally said.

"What?" I said, I wasn't expecting that, I didn't think of it. "I saw them leaving a couple of hours ago right after you left." she tried explaining, but her face in my vision unfocused, because the two of them were laughing behind her as Zeke carried her body bridal style. That, was also unexpected. He felt a thousand knifes twisting in his stomach.

"Leila." he whispered inaudible. But Leila read her name on his lips, her face falling. Zeke froze. It was all happening. And it was terrifying him. His head suddenly felt strangely lighter than ever, it was a weird feeling.

Zeke has put Leila to her feet by now, they were both standing still to the point where they seemed to be statues. The girl receptionist took it as her cue to leave us alone.

"Matty, mate I didn't know you were here." Zeke spoke, Matty wanted to speak, to tell him that he was not his mate, and to not speak of his name at all from now. But the words were stuck in his throat. He swallowed hard.

"What brought you back?" Leila asked in a calmer tone than before, yet there was a sharpness in her voice that Matty couldn't help but notice.

"I love you." The words slipped from his lips like water, smooth and uncontrolled. Like a strong force demanding to roll over his tongue. He couldn't help but say them. And she, too, was frozen in place, so was Zeke, and so was Matty. Sometimes he wishes that life was a movie, and whenever it gets awkward you could just fade out the picture to black. "I love you, Leila."
