It all happened so fast. Like the little moments she shared with Matty, like the few times she has been out with Dan,  it was like a thought hitting her into her deep dark place she fell into sometimes. But it wasn't a thought, it was a car.

It hit her full force, knocking her fragile helpless body to the ground, the car stopped. The driver pulled out, panic evident in his eyes, he looked at the unconscious stranger that had blood seeping through her face like water, her body bent in all the wrong places and position awkwardly on the cold hard cement street. He was suffering, too. He couldn't comprehend what had just happened. What he had just caused. A crowd gathered, calling an ambulance. Rush, was a word, and lightness, was another.

In the few seconds between consciousness and unconsciousness she saw images, of the Matty's face, Dan's, Adam's, and to her surprise also Zeke, with his white hair and smiling lips.

She felt light, she felt like she was glowing, and when she closed her eyes, she saw white, not black. It was white and it felt safe.

On the other side the ambulance arrived carrying her body inside the car, once in the hospital she was once again, quickly put in a room with doctors all around her studying her injuries.

But she was in peace. She'd rather not wake. She was fine even in the unknown white-glowing land.

Doctors decided she had a severe traumatic brain concussion, the blow was received at the back of her head, they wouldn't exactly know what it affected until she woke up.

And in seconds her body was connected to machines to keep her alive and wires were pressed against her skin like jewelery.

The machines were keeping her alive, as if she was so eager to.
