"You didn't have to come, I know you don't like watching it." Kika told me as we sat on the stands around the karting track.

Nine drivers had all agreed to participate in the karting activity I had planned, Charles, Carlos, Pierre, Max, Sergio, George, Lewis, Lando and Logan.

I sighed "No I'm quite interested to see who's going to win actually, it'll be an interesting one." They all have the same opportunity to win it's just down to pure skill now.

"Yeah fair enough." She shrugged, the boys were all doing a stupid safety briefing as if they didn't race cars ten times faster than this daily.
"Just got to hope it works in Mercedes favour." Carmen added.

"It will, I think they will win today." I confidently predicted as we waited for the boys to climb into the karts.

"Mate I'm telling you they aren't all the same." Max commented as he admired the different karts.

Lando shrugged climbing into one of them"Best get a good one or else I'll beat you then."

Each of the guys jumped into a kart and all got into the starting position as the owners of the track discussed the rules with them, "So we have nine drivers and we need to even it up so is anyone else coming or do you want an instructor on the track?" One of the guys who owned the place asked.

Charles instantly piped up "Evelyn can race, Evelyn come down and race." He gestured me over to the track but I just shook my head and held my thumbs down.

"Oh come on Ev we won't tell anyone!" Kika smiled at me, encouraging me over to the track.

I held my thumbs down as the boys called at me to come down "I'm not allowed."

The instructor was intrigued and called me over "This track is incredibly safe, you'll be fine if you race we promise."

"Come on little Wolff we won't tell your dad." Sergio added.

"All of you swear on your lives you won't tell him." I threatened them, to which they all chuckled at.

"It's not like this is your first time racing since he banned you." Lewis commented, I rolled my eyes as he was damn right.

"Come on ev." Pierre stated as everybody was sat in the cars ready to go and I was just stood here complaining as per usual.

The track owner came back with a helmet and passed it to me, "Here you go, smallest size we have, hopefully this will do you well."

"Yes Ev!" Carmen shouted as I tied my hair with a hair band, pulling the helmet on over my face, "I'm scared." I shouted back to her to which earned some laughs from the others.

Logan uttered "You'll be right."

I climbed into the last kart left and moved it over to the starting position, we didn't determine who was going in which place because the track was wide enough for all of us to start from the same point.

The owner of the track walked over to my car remembering "So we need to do a safety briefing-

I shook my head "I listened to the one you told the boys."

"Brilliant! So once the lights go you can go, there are ten laps in it, have fun." The owner smiled as he hopped off of the track and into the stand with Carmen, Kika, Kelly and Isa.

I should not be doing this.

I glanced over the wheel and the pedal situation and was relatively confident in my ability, "At least now I won't come last." Lando joked as he was close enough to my kart that he could comment and I would hear it.
