Maeves POV:
"Maeve has been spotted, sir."
In the midst of trying to get Kouvr to calm down after what she had witnessed, Calum had decided to come into his room with us, helping me keep her in control of her breathing after what I could only assume was a panic attack.
When he came in, he left the door wide open.
And now, we can all hear Lukes frantic voice on the phone.
"Down in Florida," Luke continues, the echoing sound of his boots slowly patting against the hardwood floor playing into the ominous realization of what was going on, "The boys and I are going to head down there tonight, I could only assume it was Malevolence who took her at this point."
He was on the phone with my father. Again.
Yet, this time, he didn't hold a gun to my head and threaten to blow my brains out.
Thank god for Kouvr being here.
"Did he just say you are in Florida?" Kouvr suddenly asks, turning her head to me as the words of what Luke was actually saying hit her.
"Oh, uh-" Calum nervously laughs, "It isn't like...weird or anything. He is just-"
"He is on the phone with my father right now, Kouv." I say honestly, causing an over dramatic type of gasp to escape Calums mouth, "He is the only one Luke calls sir."
"Wait, so why did he say you are in Florida right now?" Kouvr raises her brow, adjusting herself on the bed so she was now sitting on her knees beside me, concern but confusion spiraling her mind.
"My dad doesn't know where I am right now," I continue, looking over to Calum to watch his face completely turn ghost white,
I almost feel bad. But I was still in a pissed off mood, and the boys deserved a little bit of torment still for all my troubles.
"But," I continue, patting her shoulder lightly, " It is because if my dad ever found out Luke and I were together, he would cut off his head and stick it on a plaque like it was a trophy. So they are just pretending that I ran away."
I don't think I have ever seen a man go from such panic, to such anger in the midst of two seconds.
Calum narrowed his eyes at me, his eyebrows furrowing at the mere thought of my actions being on purpose, "Yeah. Maeve lied to him so she could be with Luke." He says through gritted teeth.
Kouvrs eyes light up, "So it IS like Romeo and Juliet!"
One thing I have learned about Kouvr, she was a hopeless romantic.
So, if she truly believed Luke and I were really together, I would try my best to play into her fantasy of us being a sick, twisted love story.
Plus, it seemed to make her feel better when our relationship got brought up anyway, and I was willing to do whatever I needed to do to keep her mind off the severed head that might still be on the porch.
"Sure," I nod my head, giving her a light smile, "Just like Romeo and Juliet."
"Okay, guys." Luke shouts, his voice travelling through the halls as he frantically makes his way back to us, "Pack your shit. We are going to Florida."
"Why Florida?" I ask, standing up and following him out of Calums room into his own.
"Why does it matter?" Luke hissed, opening his closet door and turning it completely inside out, looking for what I could only assume was a suitcase or bag.
Taking a seat at the foot of the bed where my ankle links still lied, I just shrug, "I mean, that is so far away."
"Maeve," Luke stops, his hands still at the top of the closet as he brings his head down, shaking it back and forth slowly, "You know about the gang Malevolence, correct?"
