A Motive I Did Not Understand.

Luke's POV:

"I'm sorry," Michael squeaks, his eyes growing by the second as he keeps his gaze on me, "what do you mean they know we are alive?"

I felt bad for the kid, I really did.

He was scared.

And I would be a damn fool if I were to sit here and say I wasn't either.

But I refuse to show fear, and not just for their sake.

But for my own.

"Malevolence...they know we are alive, mikey." I sigh, keeping my gaze down as I shake my head back and forth.

"I'm just a little confused," Ashton scoffs, standing up straight as he backs away from me, his arms crossing in front of his chest as the familiar vain in his neck began to pop out, "how the fuck do they know we are alive?"

"They just do," I shrug, trying my hardest to remain as calm as I can, "they've black mailed us."

"And what the fuck does Maeve have to do with that?" Calums voice began to raise, "she has absolutely NOTHING to do with them!"

"Keep your damn voice down," I mutter, teeth gritting as my patience was already beginning to wear thin, "she doesn't need to hear all this shit. All I know is they want us dead."

Calum rolls his eyes hard, "that doesn't answer my question."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Ashton asks, ignoring Calums obvious concern with the girl's involvement, "you didn't think to yourself oh, maybe I should tell the guys so we can all execute a plan?"

"I-"

"Of course you didn't!" He shouts, "you just thought you could do this by yourself, then drag the fucking rest of us down with you! Is that it? Am I on the dot?"

"And what do you expect we do about it now?" I stand, matching his eyes before taking in a deep breath, "I wasn't thinking."

"No shit," Ashton scoffs, his hands resting against his hips as he shakes his head, "we could have prevented this, you know? But now, you decided to abduct our bosses daughter, and you know as well as I do he will stop at nothing to try and find her. Do you really believe we are the only ones on this fucking search right now?"

In this exact moment,

Just for a brief second,

I wish I had told them all the truth before I had done what I did.

Or at least had the guts to tel Ashton.

I couldn't make this look any better then what it was now, and truth be told.

I was just as scared about the situation as they were.

Malevolence had such a cold place in not only my heart, but every single person standing in this house.

That gang was nothing but trouble, and it was impossible to escape it.

Their motto was basically, once you're in. You're in.

Cody was the only reason we made it out of there alive.

He saved us all.

But he doesn't realize who we were before he did.

And I intend to keep it that way, starting with the girl.

"What the hell are we going to do?" Michael asks, his eyes staring straight ahead to the black tv screen that sat in the living room.
