Maeves POV:
Luke was pissed.
Like, insanely pissed.
You would think with my leg bleeding out all over his nice leather seats would be part of the reason, but nope.
All of this shit because I killed a guy.
I swear, if this was one of the boys they would be shaking dicks at one another.
It was two hours of constant yelling. Lukes veins popping from his neck while his jaw stayed sharp. His eyes bloodshot from the alcohol he consumed on top of the emotions he was feeling.
Now you would think that, once I explained to him my reasoning behind killing the guy he would've calmed down, but instead it just made him angrier.
Ashton tried to have my back in this, but Luke wasn't having it. He told Ashton to start leaving me the hell alone, or else the dead security guard wouldn't be the only guy killed tonight.
When we finally arrived at the house, the car shuts off and everyone immediately hops out.
Well, everyone but me.
"So uh," I shrug, "I hate to be a nuisance but, I kinda can't walk."
"Crawl." Luke grits his teeth, stepping out of the car before slamming the door shut in my face. I watched through the window as he began to make his way back inside, his head hung low and shaking back and forth, his hands shoved in his dress pants pockets as he made his way up the path.
The three others stood outside of the car with their doors open, "Anyone else?" I laugh.
"You got her, man?" Michael asks, looking over to Calum as he shuts his door, making his way over to my side and saving the day.
He leans down with a shy smile, "I got you, come on."
Calum reaches in, putting one arm under my legs while the other arm holds tightly to my back. Once the outside air hits my face, I lean back against his bicep, "I don't understand, what did I do that was so wrong?"
"You didn't do anything wrong, Maeve." Calum sighs, making our way to the house, "Luke has just been over the edge because of Malevolence. We can't afford to be caught by them."
"Caught?"
Calum hesitates a moment, a look of almost regret fueling in his eyes as if he shouldn't have said anything, "Maeve, have you noticed all of our tattoos?" he suddenly asks.
I nod, a little too quickly, "Of course, they aren't hard to miss."
Calum looks down to me, stopping in his tracts as we are almost to the door, looking up once more to make sure no one is around, "Maeve, I am going to tell you something, but I swear to god if Luke finds out you know this, I will kill you myself."
Swallowing hard, I nod my head in response.
"Okay," Calum sighs, "I am going to set you down on the porch real quick. To show you something."
Before I could say anything else, I feel Calum begin to lower me down, my leg tingling the second it hits the cold wooden porch as he stands back up, looking behind me towards the windows.
"Show me what, Calum?"
Calum puts his finger to his lips, indicating for me to be quiet before he takes off his suit jacket. Once he was just in his button down shirt, I watch as he begins to roll up his left sleeve, his sleeve of tattoos popping into sight.
"Look." he almost whispers, bringing his arm down to me.
And there it was.
Written across his skin in pure black ink was the letter M, followed by the signature scorpion tattoo.
