CHAPTER 25

The main person JJ wanted had escaped, his chance for revenge was taken. It took alot to calm the Cajun down, but Jefferson made out a deal. The FBI wanted Marina as much as the CIA and Simoneaux. JJ was really skeptical about making another deal with another government agent, but Paige convinced him otherwise. Plus, the way he was doing things were all wrong. Agent Jefferson was far from Kevin O'neil. He actually cared about Paige and helped her bring all those that brought wrong upon her and her father, to justice. It took a lot of explaining as well as deals to get Jefferson to convince the Cajun, that he needed help. JJ would be forgiven of all his crimes if he would work with the FBI. He was brought in and gave them every bit of info he knew. He, of course, was going to be put in protective custody, but he wanted to help get Marina. The only way to do that was to make her come for him. JJ should have known Kevin was screwy because Kevin never brought him in for questioning, noting was on record or anything but the Cajun was so hard up for revenge he didn't think. Jefferson had a time explaining to him how that was not going to work. How one man could not take down a whole cartel, JJ came close but it was no chicken dinner. He needed help and he knew that, but trusting another government agency, after getting screwed over twice by another, the Cajun was a bit reluctant. But in the end, the cop in JJ won. He knew the proper way was best. He couldn't afford anyone else to die.

After a few rounds of shouting and a long list of demands later, JJ finally agreed to all the terms. He had no choice really. It was work with the FBI or get thrown in jail right along with the others. His crimes were massive and this was the only way Jefferson could guarantee him to not face jail time. A police officer, even an ex one in jail would not survive. Especially one with JJ's reputation. The FBI would gather more intel on the situation with the CIA as well as helped JJ construe a business, so that he could go undercover. The business was an extermination one and it also allowed the FBI to help monitor everything going on for when Marina decided to rear her head up again. JJ was hoping, no praying she would show up. He was hoping the FBI would be far enough back for him to blow her head off himself, since JJ was no Batman. He wanted his justice, and that meant an eye for an eye. Paige and Nate would also be laying low together. The two gave the info on everything they knew, as well as going to testify against William. Plus, Nate was still recovering from his wounds with Paige by his side.

Jefferson needed to keep them just as safe as JJ. The business, the Rebel group as well as the Cartel was slowly crumbling as most were either jailed or dead. Now that the FBI had JJ and his inside information, it was only a matter of time before Marina was in jail along with her father.

Marina knew her time was slowly counting down. The few remaining Cartel leaders also knew this, but her pride was getting the best of her. Marina wanted that trio dead, even if she was the one to pull the trigger. If she was going down, she was going down in a blaze of glory and taking them with her. All three of them were the main reason for the downfall of her father, the Devil's as well as the criminal enterprise her family built. Marina would stay in her Mexican home licking her wounds and plotting her next move against JJ. The Cajun was her next target.

JJ returned to a damaged home. The whole time he was gone, a few hurricanes had hit and tore everything up, forcing him to move. His mother was grateful to have him back alive but had sad news. Sasquatch had grown sick and had just passed away from it. JJ moved on the outskirts of New Iberia way back in the marsh. He wanted to be as far away from people as possible. He explained everything to his mother and aunt and asked them to keep his return a secret. They agreed and helped JJ move into his new home. It was a rough couple of months. Burying his dog, having to relocate, and trying to start off a new business. The business was for appearance sake as well as a new income for JJ. His mother and aunt helped out as much as they could, but they knew JJ was different. It was like he was a Veteran returning from a hard war. The battle scars shown in his dementor and ways.
