"Why are you so excited about this Tristan?" I ask him while we're driving to my grandparents house for dinner.

"It's fun pretending," He shrugs before pulling over in front of a flower shop.

"We're going to be late!" I say as he quickly gets out of the car and runs until the store.

I stay in the car and wait until he's back, When he gets in he shows me a bouquet of flowers.

"You're doing way too much Tristan," I roll my eyes as he starts the car back up.

"You're just mad they're going to love me pretty girl," he puts his hand on my shoulder and I quickly shrug it off.

"you know the amount of effort you put into this fake dating shit makes me think you wish it was real," I say after a few minutes of driving.

"You're funny, I have no feelings involved i'm simply just using this for my benefit," He says as we pull into the drive way.

"No feelings, at all?" I lean in closer to him so our lips are a few inches apart and keep eye contact the whole time.

He inhaled a shaky breathe before replying "Nope, Just for my benefit,"

"Good, cause I am too," I respond quickly pulling away and unbuckling my seatbelt and opening my door.

"But ya know, if i wanted to actually date you I could," He says before slamming his car door shut.

"Don't be too cocky now," I tell him as we walk out and knock on the front door.

"Jade, Tristan come on in!" My grandma says widening the door way for us to walk in.

"Sorry were a little late mrs gilmore I didn't want to come empty handed," He says while handing her the flowers.

She thanks him before leading us to the table, When she turns around I discreetly nudge him and whisper. "Stop trying to impress her,"

He just smirks as we walk into the dining room and take our seats. We all passed out the food before my mom grandma and grandpa started harassing Tristan with questions, it was very entertaining.

"What college are you going to?"

"what are your intentions?"

"do you want kids? how many?"

"what career will you pre-sue?"

"has your family met jade?"

"what did they say about her"

This went on for about 15 minutes and some how he answered every one of the questions with respectable mature answers. I almost laughed at most of the responses knowing damn well he doesn't really talk that way.

We finally start having normal conversations until my grandpa asks "So have you two spoke about marriage yet?"

I choke on my drink and I hear Rory start laughing across the table. I turn to look at Tristan and he's already looking at me for an answer.

"Um grandpa, I appreciate that you approve of us as a couple but um" I pause for a second to think "we've only been together for barely a month and marriage is a big deal, We haven't even spoken about it at all sooo"

"Right right you two are still young live your lives and all that," My grandpa responds and I'm thankful he didn't keep pushing.

"Just don't live your lives too much before marriage, we've seen how that turns out." My grandma adds looking at my mom before sipping her drink.

"Let's eat?" Rory asks before my mom can say anything that will start an argument.
