"JADE RORY WAKE UP!!" i heard my mom yelling as I rubbed my eyes and groaned. 20 minutes later Rory walked through my door to our shared bathroom and when she saw me her eyes widened.
"your not ready yet?!" i stared at her blank faced and then she added "it's 6:45 you have to get up if you want to go to Luke's." after hearing that i jumped up and put on my outfit.

I ran out of my room and grabbed my bag. Then we left for a walk to Luke's, In stars hallow everything is within walking distance so it only took about 7 minutes to get there. When we did we sat straight at the counter and asked for 3 coffees. I got iced coffee like I always do and asked for extra sugar. I don't understand how my mom and sister can drink coffee straight up with water, It's so bitter and nasty.
"how can you drink coffee like that? with all the extra stuff your adding it's barely even coffee." My mom took a sip from her cup.
I shrugged and replied with "it's better than that bitterness your drinking." We ended up having a full on debate up until the minute me and Rory had to leave.
While me and Rory were walking to school she said "I cannot go here another day, everyone is so eager and impatient to leave school they don't even TRY to learn anything!!"
I giggled a little before responding "ya know not everyone loves learning Rory."
She looked at me with a side eye and said "they definitely should if they ever want a real career."
Right before I could respond lane came up to us and hugged us both, the rest of the way it was mostly just Lane and Rory talking. Me and Lane are close of course but nothing compared to her and Rory, They're inseparable it's actually scary sometimes.
I've never really had a real best friend. Like I have but i haven't, I had a best friend once but I wasn't HER best friend, I mean I was for a little while in the middle of elementary school but then Rachael came to our school and they became even closer. Me and her were still close but it wasn't the same and then eventually she just ghosted me completely. Anyways she moved a few years ago. Since then I've never really clicked with anyone the same. I have lots of friends sure but none of them are similar enough for us to really click and if they are I keep my distance cause they usually have a best friend already and I don't want to get my feelings hurt again.
When we got to school it was a little crowded so I walked a tiny bit behind Rory and Lane. When I did I saw this boy who I've never seen before and I saw his eyes following Rory as she walked past him. interesting. I said goodbye to Rory and walked to my first period.
"HEY JADE! COME OVER HERE GIRL!" I heard my friend amber yell from across the class room as soon as I walked in. I went over to them and made small talk with her and her friends before the teacher told us all to sit down and listen to instructions. I was paying attention when my Ambers friend sam tapped me on the shoulder.
"do you want to go on a drive to heartford with us after school?" She asked in a whispery tone, I said yes and went back to taking notes. After school I went to my moms job with Rory to tell her that I wasn't going to be home for a little while and ask her if that was ok.
Me and Rory walked into the kitchen to see my mom and her best friend Sookie very happy and bubbly. Me and Rory looked at each other suspiciously before I asked "what happened?"
Then Rory asked "did you do something slutty?" Which made me giggle
"i'm not that happy" She replied handing us a present
"open it!" she said exploding with excitement. We opened it and pulled out two long blue plaid skirts.
"we're going to church?" I asked confused
"are we going to be in a Britney spears music video?" Rory asked after me.
Then sookie couldn't hold it in any more "YOUR GOING TO CHILTON!!" She exclaimed making me eyes go wide as me and Rory both turned to face our mom in shock. "mom?!" We both asked hoping it was true.
"you guys did it babe!!" She assured making me smile as she embraced us both in a big hug.
"I have to go tell Lane!!" Rory said before taking a step away then hugging our mom again and saying "I love you!" wholesome.
I then turned to my mom and told her "I was gonna ask to hang out with some friends today but if you would rather us celebrate or something that's totally okay."
she smiled at me "you deserve to hang out with your friends, this is a really big accomplishment jade. I'm really proud of you." she explained before hugging me. I told her the plans and then left to go meet up with them at Luke's.
when I got there it was a few more people then I had thought. It was Amber and Sam and then Jenny, Marcus, Levi and john. I don't really know any of them that well besides amber and I guess Sam but it was going to be fun regardless. We went in two separate cars and drove to heartford. The thirty minute drive was filled with laughing, singing and talking and I had lots of fun. When we arrived we all got out of the car and walked into a small restaurant that was close to where we parked.
"can we get a table for seven please?" Marcus asked the front desk lady before she escorted us to a booth with 4 chairs on the opposite side. I sat on one of the chairs instead of the booth that way it wouldn't be so crowded.
"so what do you guys want to talk about?" Jenny asked particularly staring at Levi. weird...
We started talking about school and what we wanted to do when we graduate. The lady waitress took our orders and we went back to talking. "I want to go to Harvard and be a author." I stated
"Harvard? totally.. Isn't that like crazy hard to get into?" John said laughing but no one laughed with him.
"yeah it is, but I'm committed so it will happen." I responded firmly
"that's why I love you. your so compassionate Jade, I love it!" Amber praised making me feel better.
After we had eaten all of our food I excused myself to the bathroom. The bathroom was even farther into the restaurant in the opposite direction of the entrance, so when I was walking towards the bathroom there were people I hadn't seen yet. One boy in particular caught my eye. He has blonde hair that looked like a over grown buzz cut but in a good way, he had a perfect smile and was tall. Definitely taller than me by atleast 5 inches. I realized I was staring and quickly walked into the bathroom before he could see me looking. I did my business and when I left the bathroom he was gone. sad.
We all payed and left the restaurant before heading home. When I got home me and Rory tried on our chilton uniform. I looked in the mirror and started laughing at how long it was. it looked like I was in the 1600s but Rory loved it anyways. we walked out to show our mom and Sookie and she gave us a particular look that said enough for Rory to cave in.
"fine you can hem it but, only a little!!" she giggled turning around to walk inside.
"you can hem mine a lot." I told my mom which made her smile. She always said I reminded her of her when she was younger, that always made me happy.
Rory turned around her arms draped around the stairs railing as she exclaimed "I love being a private school girl!" I agreed and smiled. seeing her happy makes me happy.
