Fair warning, I have absolutely no idea what kind of assignments they do so I just came up w the first thing that came to mind. pls don't judge me for it cause it's probably far off what they actually do.
"So what do you guys think the weirdest thing that happens tonight will be?" I ask as we're driving to my grandparents house.
"Maybe they'll finally let us have twinkies for dessert." Rory smiled
"Please have you met them?" my mom turned to her "Maybe they'll skip drinks before dinner. It's always suspicious when they do."
"I guess we'll just have to see." I said opening my door after we pulled in.
"Come in girls!!" Grandma opened the door before we could even knock
"Hi grandma."
"Hey grandma."
"Hi mom."
"Well don't just stand there come on let's sit." She said walking into the living room and started pouring us all drinks.
"Well we're getting drink." I shrug to my mom
"Jade, Rory is coke okay?" Grandma asks turning to us.
"Coke is good grandma." Rory answers for us
"What if i wanted wine Rory?" I joke
"Sorry grandpa is going to be a little late, he's been answering calls all day!" She explained to us
We all made small talk for a little while until the maid told us dinner was done. We all took our seats and a few minutes later grandpa walked in.
"Sorry I'm late everyone." He took his seat and filled his plate with food.
"So girls are you excited for your birthday in a few weeks?" Grandma asks us with a smile
"Yes but it's still some days away so it's not super exciting just yet." I tell her
"We'll speaking of birthdays, after dinner you girls can all put a sticky note on everything you want us to leave you on our will." Grandpa informs
"I'm sorry but what does your will have to do with birthdays?" I ask genuinely curious on how we got to that subject
"Well Jade both are a coming of age thing." She raises her eyebrows as she tells me
"Wow, I wish I could say that sentence surprised me but somehow it didn't." My mom widens her eyes "Creepy."
"You hear that Richard we're creepy!" She sighs just then the maid walks out with the dessert.
"Pudding?" Rory asks
"Yes it is." Grandma proudly smiled
"You don't like pudding." Mom says
"No, but you do." She responds
"Hey grandma these bowls are pretty." I tell her
"You like them?" I nod "Put a sticky note on them." She smiles at me
After dinner we were all walking around with a deck of sticky notes.
"So I don't know what weird I was expecting but nothing could've prepared me for this." Mom shakes her head slightly
"Hey this vase could be cute right? With the right flowers and maybe a little paint?" I hold it up to my mothers view.
"Probably, put a sticky note on it." She turns her head back
"So you guys find anything you like?" Grandma creeps up out of nowhere
"Yes we did, Hey grandma can we talk?" I respond
