"Married?"

I couldn't believe my ears.

"M-married?" I stuttered my surprise.
"Yeah." He took a swig of his bottle of liquor.

I gulped. I loved him. I knew that already. But I was sixteen for goodness sake. You're not supposed to get married at that age, well at least not to someone you don't know very well.

"Michael? You know I love you, right?"
He looked up. "Of course."
"Well, I-I just don't think that we should talk about this yet. How about we talk about it in the morning?"

'When you're sober' I added silently.

He sighed. "Alright, see you in the morning."
He got up and went to bed.

I let out air I didn't know I was holding. Thank goodness I didn't have to answer that question right away.
