"What's in store for me?"

When I got back to camp, I immediately mounted my horse, Firefoot, and rode out with Legolas and the men.

We had gotten a report from some scouts of Orc activity by the distant Misty Mountains, so we were heading there next.

For the next year, Legolas and I combined forces and fought together until the threat of invasion had ceased to exist in the Rivendell region. And every single time during a battle, my eyes would turn red and I would excuse myself.

I found that just singing Michael's song would make the color in my eyes return, and then I would go back to the camp.

After we had gotten to the point where there were no Orcs to hunt, Legolas said goodbye and left, taking his men with him, and went back to Mirkwood.

I never knew why, but something happened to me when Legolas left. A strange sinking feeling.

I finally returned to Rivendell for some well-earned rest, but Gandalf had something else in store for me....
