At the river

As the Wraiths started to splash across, I knew that I couldn't take on 8 of them at once.

I began to utter the words that Lord Elrond had taught me, calling upon the waters to do whatever it was I was saying. Honestly, I didn't know what it would do, but I spoke the words anyway.

The moment I had finished, I saw the water recede from the riverbed. The Wraiths stopped in the middle of the river as if they knew what I had done. Then I heard a terrible roaring coming from upstream. The Nàzgûl shrieked and started to turn back but it was too late.
A huge wave came crashing through the crossing, going past me and sweeping up the Black Riders and carrying them downstream.

"Well. That was fun." I said with a strange husky edge to my voice that sounded borderline fatigue and fear, but still excited. I urged Asfaloth again to carry us to Rivendell, and that he did.

The moment I got Frodo there, the Elves took him away for care and I dismounted wearily and staggered to my room and flopped on the bed.
