Miho opened the door, dragging the trapper inside.
She laid him on the floor and took off his coat.
A first aid box was next to the door, so she opened it and took out more bandages and antiseptic, applying it to his wounds.
She managed to stop all the bleeding and dragged him to his bed.
It was a struggle to get the large man on his small bed, but she did it, which Miho considered an achievement.
She removed his large buckskin boots and started a fire.
Miho set her equipment on the chair as she stared into the fire, illuminating the dark room.
Miho felt the exhaustion catch up to her as she unrolled her bedroll, falling asleep next to the fire.
Early the next morning, Miho sat by the fire when she noticed the Trapper move his hand.
Miho looked up at the man, happy he was still alive.
"Bear..." He muttered.
"Damn it... not again... not the lights..."
Miho stood up and walked over to him, kneeling beside him and taking his hand.
"Bear!" He yelled, waving his arm and hitting Miho under the jaw.
She fell back as the Trapper sat up, looking around.
"Easy! Easy!" She said.
The trapper looked at her, first with angry eyes before calming down and giving her soft but uneasy eyes.
"Who... are you?" He asked.
"My name is Miho Nishizumi. I saved you from the bear. And from bleeding." She said.
"You kill it?" He asked.
"I don't know. I hit it in the shoulder, but I scared it away."
The Trapper laughed before stopping after feeling some pain in his side.
"That's not the way you shoot." He said.
"I'm not used to shooting guns. I'm better with a 75mm cannon."
"Shit, he got me good this time." The Trapper said.
"This time? This has happened before?"
"Me and the Old Bear go back a ways. There's unfinished business between us."
"I bandaged you up, but you're in bad shape."
"You did pretty good. Have you done this before?" He asked.
"A few times." She said.
Miho looked down at him and looked around the cabin.
"Is there any way to get medical help out here?" She asked.
"You mean like a hospital? Out here?"
"Well, no, I mean like... anywhere there might be medicine. For you." She said.
"Nothing like that." He said.
"What about your radio? Can we calm for help?" She asked.
"Nah, the radio's been dead for a few days. I can't raise any of the usual channels. I'm not sure why." He said.
"You need some medicine to avoid any infection and for the pain." Miho said.
"You some kind of doctor?" He asked.
"No, I just know this stuff because of a good friend." She said.
The Trapper stiffled a moan of pain, hissing before looking back at Miho.
