The engine of my car roared as I pressed down on the accelerator, racing down the empty road as fast as I could. The only sound was the wind rushing past my windows and the dull hum of the car's engine. I didn't want to speak, didn't want to say anything that might reveal the panic I was feeling inside.

After a while, she finally broke the silence

"What was that?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

I said nothing, focusing on the road ahead.

"What are you? And where are we going?" Her questions came faster now, one after the other.

I kept my eyes fixed on the road, my grip on the steering wheel tightening. "How did you do that stunt up there?" She continued, her voice rising in pitch. "And what were they doing at my house?"

I gritted my teeth, knowing that she deserved answers. But there was so much I couldn't tell her.

"Oh my goddd!" She exclaimed, and I flinched at the sound. "I will go crazy."

I suddenly stopped the car remembering that burn on her leg. I pulled over to the side of the road and stepped out of the car, quickly making my way to the back to grab the first aid kit.

I opened the door on her side of the car and kneeled down beside her. Looking at the wound on her leg, I cursed Amara's people under my breath. They had caused so much damage, so much pain.

When Arjun bhai told me about Amara's people here, I was furious because our location was unknown to them. They must have been following me for a while to know about my whereabouts. Above that, they also know about Ivyanah. When I expected them to confront me in my mansion, like the cowards they are they attacked the woman I love. Thankfully I got suspicious and stopped by Ivyanah's house to check on her. I couldn't bare getting her attacked. When she caught that flame, I just wished I could kill and burn those attackers.

I could identify their leader among them- Shekhar. That bastard had that victorious smile on his face when we were hiding behind the car. I vowed to make him pay for the pain he had caused Ivyanah.

As I carefully touched Ivyanah's leg, she hissed in pain.

"Sorry, I'll be careful," I blurted out.

I quickly rummaged through the first aid box, looking for something that would ease the pain. After a few moments of searching, I found an ointment and looked at her for her approval. She nodded, and I began applying the cream to the affected area.

"This will hurt a little," I warned her as I rubbed the ointment into her skin.

She gripped the seat with her fingers, pressing them tightly as tears streamed down her face. I could feel the rage inside of me growing, knowing that someone had hurt her like this.

After bandaging Ivyanah's wound, I looked at her, and tears were streaming down her face. "Who were they?" she asked, her voice trembling with fear.

"I'll tell you," I said, trying to reassure her. " I'll tell you everything but first, let's go somewhere safe. I am taking you to my house. We will find Mom and Arjun bhai there"

But she shook her head, still crying.

"Please," I begged, reaching out to her. "Trust me with your safety. I'll keep you safe. Let me repay what they did to you."

She was still unsure but said nothing. I quickly climbed into the driver's seat and started the car.

After a 20-minute drive, we finally arrived at my house. I parked the car and rushed to Ivyanah's side, she was limping, but I gently held her arm and helped her walk. I could see the pain in her eyes.

As we approached the house, I could feel the tension rising in the air. Even the guards on duty were on high alert, watching our every move.

The last thing I want for Ivyanah is to feel uncomfortable here.

We walked through the main doors where I found Arjun bhai and Rajat Uncle discussing something.

They looked at us and bhai shook his head and muttered something under his breath.

"Are you guys okay?" Arjun bhai asked looking at me unsure what to say.

"Yeah, I arrived at the right time."

He nodded his head.

Rajat Uncle excused himself, saying "I have some urgent work to attend to. You both take care of things here for now."

Arjun bhai and I nodded.

I looked at Ivyanah. Seeing her like that, I couldn't help but feel guilty for all this.

I should have known that this day would come. People will take advantage of this situation. They will know how to break me or get to me.

Mom came from the kitchen, "What happened?"

She looked at Ivyanah and then said, "Oh my god! Tara, you're alive."
