September 2nd

Madison's POV:

I made it through muggle studies rather easily since my mother is a muggle. The class wasn't confusing or anything and I was able to take it with Hermione. She and I were easily able to know what each item was. To the pure bloods, it was like a foreign language but to us it was normal.

I then went to potions class, there was a seat open next to Mattheo and I took it. He smiled at me and I smiled back. "How was muggle studies?"

"It was good. Not nearly as difficult as I thought. I recognize most of the items that we saw today."

"That's good, I'm glad."

"What class did you have?"

"Transfiguration,"

"Oh, I loved taking that! How'd it go?"

"Eh, it was fine. I keep getting looks from other students though."

I sighed, "I'm sorry Mattheo. That's not fair to you at all.

"It's fine,"

I shook my head. "No, it's not." I looked around, I saw a few Ravenclaw girls looking at Mattheo with disgust in their eyes. "Hey!" I yelled and got their attention. "If you have something to say, say it to his face!"

"What a freak," The blonde remarked.

"Enough," Professor Snape said as he walked in. "What's going on, Ms. Diggory?"

"These girls and other students around the school were giving Mattheo dirty looks just because of his family name. So I called them out for it because it's not right. He shouldn't be judged just because of his parents and his last name,"

Snape looked at me and turned to Mattheo. "Is this true, Mr. Riddle?"

"Yes sir,"

Snape turned his back and walked to the front of the class. "10 points from Ravenclaw," He stated blandly. "Each and every one of you needs to be welcoming of Mr. Riddle. He is not his father. Am I understood?"

No one said a word.

Class began and I glanced at Mattheo. He smiled at me, "You didn't have to do that," he whispered.

"It was the right thing to do,"

He brushed his hand against mine and our pinky's latched together making me smile as I took notes.

It was silent in the classroom, Mattheo leaned over to me and whispered in my ear, "You look so beautiful sitting there and concentrating."

I looked at him and blushed. "You are going to make my heart burst. Knock it off," I whispered back with a smile.

The rest of the class passed swiftly and there was a break for lunch. The boys, Pansy, and I made our way to the great hall. The tables were different now and there was a large goblet with blue flames bursting out of it. "What the hell is that?" I asked.

"Weren't you listening yesterday? It's for the tri-wizard tournament. One student from each school will be selected and have the chance to win eternal glory and more riches than you could comprehend." Lorenzo explained.

"So why don't we put our names in?" I questioned.

"You have to be 17, it's a very dangerous tournament and there is a possibility of death," Theo added.

My eyes widened. "Never mind."

"Oh come on, it can't be that difficult. It's a stupid rule. I'd love the chance to win the tournament." Draco said.
