Back in 2014, when CJ was only eleven years old, everyone was on edge in the living room of his house. This was also one year before his dad brought back the Black Rosary from Europe, with Zarathos inside. Tom, Angela, CJ, and his little five year-old sister, Carly, were waiting for someone else to come back home, but they weren't happy at that time. Tom, especially, wasn't pleased with whatever happened that night.
Tom: When she comes through that damn door, that girl's gonna get what's coming to her!
Angela: Honey, I'm not happy with her, too, but let's not do things we'll end up regretting.
Tom: If our own daughter doesn't say she's sorry, I'm not gonna' be responsible for what I'm gonna do!
CJ and Carly were watching nervously on the couch, as the former was, also, worried for his older sister. Never in his time had she ever disappointed their family behind their backs. Before another word was said, the front house door was opened, and there was his older sister.
Tom: LAYLA JOHNSON!!!
That name was shouted at the 17 year-old young adult, who only replied with an irritated groan. As she slammed the door closed, her parents angrily walked up to her, and began to scold her.
Tom: We've heard about what you've been doing lately!
Angela: What's this about you, and others, practicing witchcraft?
Tom: You know that kind of stuff is NOT the kind we accept in this family!
Hearing her parents talking to her that way, Layla only gave a hard glare back at them. Both CJ and Carly worried for their older sister. Why would she want to be with those kind of people?
Layla: Why would any of you care? You want me to leave my new friends and stay with you for the rest of my fucking life?
Angela: Layla!
Tom: Don't you dare talk back at us like that!!
Then, Angela looked at her son and second daughter. She didn't want them to have to listen to this bitter argument.
Angela: Charlie, Charlotte, to your rooms, now.
As much as he wanted to stay and see what happens, CJ could only comply to his mother's command. He quickly dragged Carly to their bedrooms, only for them to stop behind the hallway wall. As they secretly watched, Layla scoffed at her parents.
Layla: *scoff* I don't get why you want my stupid brother, and Carly, to get lost. They'd have to face the cold hard truth one day.
Tom's blood was boiling inside him, and Angela thought she was going to pop a vein. Layla was going too far on this, but Tom humored his own older daughter with one question.
Tom: And what truth would that be?!
Upon that question, Layla cast an ominous grin.
Layla: That life is nothing but a joke. That it won't always go the way they want it to, and when their time to die comes, Hell will be waiting for them!
SLAP!!!
Layla: AHHHH!!!
Layla received a quick and hard slap to the face, with blood dripping from her left side of her eye. The one responsible was her own mother, who just couldn't take all this anymore. Angela saw that one of her right fingernails was dripping with Layla's blood, and left a scar on her daughter's left eye. CJ and Carly saw this, and quickly ran back to their rooms, thinking about what was going to happen next. As soon as the pain settled, Layla was now pissed off at her mother, giving her a very furious expression.
