Ember and Hermione felt that it was best not to stay anywhere too long, and Harry and Ron agreed, with the sole proviso that their next move took them within reach of a bacon sandwich. Hermione therefore removed the enchantments she had placed around the clearing, while Harry, Ember, and Ron obliterated all the marks and impressions on the ground that might show they had camped there. Then they Disapparated to the outskirts of a small market town.

Once they had pitched the tent in the shelter of a small copse of trees and surrounded it with freshly cast defensive enchantments, Harry ventured out under the Invisibility Cloak to find sustenance. This, however, did not go as planned. He had barely entered the town when an unnatural chill, a descending mist, and a sudden darkening of the skies made him freeze where he stood. Harry casted his Patronus and when no one was looking he took a five bacon sandwiches from under his Invisibility Cloak and left some money on the counter for them

"I don't think we should stay here with the Dementors hanging about." Harry said tossing Nymeria a bacon sandwich, which she caught and swallowed.

She was then eying the sandwiches of the others.

"I agree. It makes no sense to stay here where we know Dementors are swooping around." Ember said.

In the end they settled down for the night in a far-flung field belonging to a lonely farm, from which they had managed to obtain eggs and bread.

"It's not stealing, is it?" asked Hermione in a troubled voice, as they devoured scrambled eggs on toast. "Not if I left some money under the chicken coop?"

Ron rolled his eyes and said, with his cheeks bulging, "'Er-my-nee, 'oo worry 'oo much. 'Elax!"

"Desperate times, desperate measures." Ember said, giving Nymeria some toast.

And, indeed, it was much easier to relax when they were comfortably well fed. Harry felt cheerful, even hopeful, as he took the first of the three night watches. But with Nymeria, she always managed to catch them food and they knew this was how Ember survived when she went off with Nymeria.

Ember however prepared herself to dream walk again but she intended to go further back. All the way back to the 1490s. She placed candles around herself and used her powers to light them. With the Elemental book that contained the family trees of all the four Elemental families in front of her opened to the family tree of Fire. Her focus on the name Cyrus Rayos.

She remembered Nearly Headless Nick talk about him. It was in his life time that the Elementals started to lose their power. He was the last Fire Elemental on the family referred to as King. He was the last King of the Fire Elementals. The reason Ember had decided to go back to find out what happened in this time is because she noticed a chain in the pattern. Instead of Elementals living to the ages of at least in their eighties they were dieing in the thirties or if they were lucky their forties. Children were loosing their parents very early in life.
