A/N: This is what Ember looks like in her third year.
⚠️Trigger Warning ⚠️
This chapter is similar to the previous chapter so please read with caution as it may be distressing for readers who have had similar experiences.Ember never slept. Never at night. It was impossible when there was severe bamging against the door. Ember spent the nights huddled by the open window. On those nights that Mr Reynolds managed to break through the barricade Ember would flee put the window to a den in the woods she had made. In a tipi tent made out of nothing but sticks, it provided some shelter from rain but she still shook from the cold despite the fire she would make. She did it the muggle way as she's not allowed to use magic outside of school. She frantically rubbed two sticks together over the pile of sticks she had collected. She frantically rubbed them together for two hours intill a roaring fire was started. The logical side of Ember questioned the fire as it was too big but the tired part of her over took her logical thinking and Ember couldn't stop the relief that filled her at having a source of warmth. Though Ember still shook at the cold she could have some blissful hours of sleep. Soon she even had company.
Hedwig.
About two weeks into the summer, Hedwig had arrived with a letter from Harry. It was a letter asking how her summer was going. Ember, glad for the distraction from the man attempting the barge down her door, wrote quickly back.
Dear Harry,
I hope your alright. I hope the Dursleys aren't being to horrible to you. You don't deserve that Harry and never let anyone convince you that you do. My summers going great and I hope yours is aswell. I'm glad I get all our homework done in the first week of the holiday as my parents have surprised with a holiday to Mexico. They say holiday but really its a business trip but hey no complaints from me. Because of that it may be hard for me to get back to you a soon as usual so I'm just going yo wish you a Happy Birthday now even if it is still a bit away. I do hope you have a good birthday, Harry. I also hope you like your present.
Lots of Love,

Ember worked hard to make sure she had just enough money to get her friends something for Christmas's and birthdays. It was never much but it was something. Ember got Harry a medium bag of Chocolate Frogs and a medium box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. She had already wrapped them up and she attached them to Hedwigs leg. Ember then stroked her soft feathers but then Mr Reynolds barged through the barricaded door, a bottle in his hand, and charged at her. Ember only made it halfway through the window when Mr Reynolds grabbed hold of Ember's foot and dragged her back. Ember let out a scream before Mr Reynolds clamped a hand over her mouth, his other hand still clutched a nearly empty alcohol bottle. Mr Reynolds used his heavy weight to hold Ember down as she struggled. Mr Reynolds brought the bottle back up to his lips and chugged the rest of the alcohol down. Ember desperately attempted to shove him off but was rewarded with a back hand to the face. Mr Reynold throw the empty bottle at the wall where it shattered loudly causing Ember to jump in fear. But what happened next terrified her mote then anything else Mr Reynolds had done. He began messing with her clothes causing Ember to freeze in panic, her mind racing to all the possible scenarios, each one worst then the last. Ember tried even more desperately to get away.
