The same morning

I woke up to texts from emina basically saying she don't fuck me fucking with other hoes. All I could do was laugh to myself.

I called her to see if she was up, and just to check up on her but she ain't answer.

After the failed call I got a facetime from Kay, which is weird cause we ain't spoke in a minute.

I picked it up anyway.

Kay: "can I ask you something?"

Nell: "yeah wassup.."

Kay: "Why didn't you tell me that you and emina had been fucking around? why were you fucking with another stud to begin with?"

Nell: "Well I mean it wasn't really anybodys business anyway.. we all single here so like?? And does it matter if I fuck with another stud? It threw me off at first but coochie is coochie at the end of the day. Studs are women too." I shrugged.

Kay: "yeah I guess. but what about you and me? I know we weren't ever together but did you have any typa feelings for me at all?"

Nell: "I wanted to like you in that way, but it just wasn't there. The sexual tension? that was very clear, but like feelings for real? I wasn't really feeling it, and I'm sorry if I might've been leading you on" I said sincerely.

Kay: "No it's okay, we all single at the end of the day. I do miss you though, we had fun hanging out n shit.... do you think we could still do that?"

Nell: "yes ma'am we can, and-" she cut me off.

Kay: "Also last night I ran into Emina at the bar. She was hella out of it so I ended up taking her home."

Nell: "Oh I know she was drunk, she did a mini spam in our messages. I gotta have a talk with her later"

Kay: "Do you like her?"

Nell: "Not strongly."

Kay: "So you do like her" she giggled excitedly.

Nell: "Not like for real though, I guess it's a crush or some shit. I ain't really thought about it. I genuinely care for her though for sure."

Kay: "And......"

Nell: "..andddd she's cool. Man I don't know, don't pressure right now" I laughed.

Kay: "I won't i won't, but imma talk to you later. I missed you a lot. Also you should head over to Emina's. Her brother ain't been over there a whole bunch so go make sure she's okay"

Nell: "I'll start heading over there now, and I missed you too silk press."

Kay: "Bye forehead."

Emina's House

I knocked at Emina's door for a good 5 minutes before she opened it. She looked drowsy and sweaty.

"Damn you good?" I asked as I walked in. "This fuckin alcohol is killing me" she said as she made her way to her couch.

"Yo if you don't start feeling better soon then i'm taking you to the ER." I said as I stood up to go get her a water.

"Nah nigga Im not doing all that ER shit, imma be just fine." she shrugged. "Stop doing all that talking back and drink this water." I said handing it to her and sitting beside her.

"You know you texted me last night?"

"What did I text you? Let me see." she said sitting up. I laughed and grabbed my phone out my pocket showing her the texts.

Whatever color of herself she had left faded once she read them. "Oh.. well.. man that's some bullshit"

"Is it?" I asked with a raised brow. She started to avoid eye contact. "Emina I got a question for you and I want you to be honest."

"uh huh." she said followed by a sip of her water. "You like me?"

"Duh I like you as a friend, you cool n shit."

"Nigga don't play dumb right now, do you LIKE me." I asked grabbing her face making her look at me.

She swatted my hand off of her face, "oh my godddddd, does it matter? I don't think so." she said loudly. "It does matter and since you can't give me a direct answer I'm taking it as a yes." I shrugged.

She rolled her eyes and laid back. "Nothing else to say either? you like me for real." I said teasing her. "Okay Nell."

"Don't be embarrassed, I like you too." I shrugged trying to feel confident in what I just said.

I could feel myself getting anxious.

"Since when???" She said sounding shocked as her head quickly turned to me. "Cant even hold you, since that first night we saw each other. Ain't never experience no shit like that, then of course the feelings grew little by little as I got to know you" I said.

"You don't be showing it, wait, do you be jealous?"

"I mean, not really. I think once I get more comfortable in these feelings that's when all that shit is gonna kick in"

As I said that I noticed that emina start blinking a lot faster as if she was fighting to stay awake.

"You good?" I asked her in a genuinely concerned tone. "Yeah I'm just...tired" she said as her blinking started slowing down.

"Yeah you gotta go to the ER." I said standing up. "Nigga you're being over dramatic" she said with her eyes closed. "Better safe than sorry, so let's go. Or am I gonna have to cary you"

Right when I said that she flipped me off then put both her arms out, eyes still closed.

Later that Day .
The Hospital.

Right when Kaiya and Kay walked in I explained to them what the doctor said what was wrong.

"She was apparently on the verge of alcohol poisoning and they were surprised that she lasted this long." I said shaking my head.

"Oh my god, how's she doing now?" Kay asked.
"Is she gonna be alright?" Kaiya asked clearing fighting the urge to cry.

"She's gonna be just fine, and right now she's sleeping. She'll probably be out for a while. The doc said she's most likely gonna be discharged tomorrow. I'll stay here tonight just in case anything happens though. Also where's Liz? I thought she would've came"

"Shes still mad.. she said she didn't care but deep down I know she does." Kaiya said.

"When it comes to shit like this, you gotta put shit like that aside." Kay said sounding a little disgusted at Liz's ego.
