"Just ask her already, you know before she gets a date?" Cho said and you groaned which turned into an unintelligible mumbling of words.

"It's not that hard" She said annoyed with your childish acts.

"Easy for you say, you didn't have to ask anyone they all just... Came to you" You said lifting your head. "And I don't even know if she likes girls"

"Don't be silly, Hermione Granger is not straight, she definitely a lesbian" Cho said.

"Well she does a very good job of hidin' it" You said letting your head fall back to its original position.

"Why don't you ask her?" Luna chimed in and your turned your head to go are at her.

"Luna, love. It's harder than it seems and she's always with Potter and Weasley" You answered.

"Then ask to speak with her alone" Cho said stating the obvious.

"Or just xtsh her in the library, Harry and Ron hardly go near the place" Luna said giving you another option.

"Stop giving me good options because that means I have to actually do it!" You said frustratedly.

Luna and Cho gave each other a look.

"I'll give you 5 galleons if you do it before tonight" Cho said.

"I don't want your money" You said finally deciding to get up off your bed and start getting dressed.

"Okay then, if you ask Hermione to the Yule Ball I will... Luna?" She said beckoning for the blondes help. Luna shrugged from behind her Quibbler.

"I don't want anything" You said as you adjusted your tie.

"Other than Hermione" Luna said and you inhaled deeply annoyed at the truth of the situation.

"If I try ,will you two stop annoying me?" You asked.

"Yes"

"Absolutely"

You sighed and threw on a sweater with your house emblem and colours on it before going to put your shoes on.

You were walking in the library looking for a book to do your Potions paper on when you saw Hermione sitting at the table just next the aisle of books you were by.

She looked absolutely beautiful with her eyebrows furrowed as if she was trying to figure out what she was reading. You watched as they relaxed when she figured it out and couldn't help but think that she was adorable.

You took a few deep breaths before deciding that this was your opportunity to ask her and if you girl rejected then so be it.

You were only two feet away from her when Harry and Ron rushed to the table to tell her about something. She got up and ran off with them leaving you to grit your teeth angrily.

This was possibly the only chance you had and they completely ruined it.

Later that day you saw her on the castle grounds, sitting on the grass reading a book on potions. You were sure you've seen her reading it before.

You walked up to her slightly faster than earlier to avoid anyone interrupting.

"Hey" You said getting her attention.

"Y/n, hello" She said getting up off the ground.

"This is gonna sound a tad bit... Weird? I don't know if that's the word for it but I don't know what else to use" You said and she urged you to go on.
