You smiled as you watched Petra with the girls. Petra and yourself had been dating for 2 years now. You both loved each other and what you lived even more is how much of a change she had made.

As you waited for her to finish, you got a message from your boss, you sighed and then proceeded to hug her and give her a kiss on the cheek.

"I know I said that I would be off today but I got called in last minute and I promise to be home as soon as I can, I promise that I'll will see you later ok?" You said and she groaned.

"I know love, but it's my job and I am still trying to fill in for one of the best officers there was, so I'm so sorry" You said.

"Can't they let you have a break, it's been 3 years" She sighed and hugged you tighter."This is the last time, if they do this again, I'll kill them" She said and you chuckled before breaking the hug.

"Ok, I'll be home as soon as I can, I promise, bye, I love you" You said and grabbed your bags and car keys and left.

How Petra would regret allowing you to leave later today, she just didn't know it yet.

On your side, you had just arrived at work and placed your bag down, drinking your coffee and throwing paper balls into the trash can. The day was going painfully slow and there was nothing happening.

Just then Dennis came into your shared office space. "We got a lead on Rose, lets go now" He said and you jumped up and ran to catch up with him.

Dennis didn't like you at first but you guys eventually got to a state of a frenemy type thing. He didn't like that you were offered Michael's spot in the department.

You got into a car with Dennis and he sped out of the precinct's parking lot with at least 3 other cars following, all with sirens blaring loudly and the cars sped one after the other through the streets of Miami.

You were happy that this was finally a big break, especially after knowing that Michael wanted to catch Sin Rostro or Rose for a long time. It wasn't that you wanted the case because it would bring you a better reputation ,it was that you wanted to honour his memory and catch her for doing what she did.

Michael was a good guy and you hated that you had to take his place at the precinct but if it helped catch Rose...

Dennis hit the brakes hard as you guys arrived at a park. It was huge and empty, it looked abandoned and soon enough, Dennis was splitting people up to cover the grounds faster.

He sent one team to cover indoors and the other team, that you and him were on to cover outdoors.

You guys made your way, splitting up to cover ground faster. You'd be lying if you said you weren't shit scared.

You began to cover grounds behind the trees when you heard it. The whistling.

You turned around finding no one there. You then heard a laugh from behind you.

"Oh come on Y/n, I'm not that basic" Rose said as you turned to find her very closely in front of you. You felt sowmthung sharp peirce you skin, you looked down with your eyes wide.

"Oh how I wish someone else came this way, I kind of liked you" She said and you looked back up at her, gritting your teeth hard.

She twisted the blade more and you let out a groan of pain.

"I was hoping for it to be Dennis and for you to put up more of a fight though" She said with a smirk as she winked at you and pulled the dagger out as you fell to your knees.
