Athena Jones

When I woke up today Dahlia was not there on her bed or beside me again, yesterday she said she went for a walk which I’m pretty sure was a lie but I don’t understand why would she lie?

Hazel already left for the class and I have to look for Dahlia before I go to the class, and I definitely can’t get late to Snape’s class!

I thought of all the places Dahlia may be and dragged my feet over the floor as quickly as I could. I examined each and every one of those places, but there was still no sign of where she was. There isn’t much time left for me to go to class

I was pacing rapidly now, looking around frantically. It was like she just disappeared into thin air, there was absolutely no trace of her. Maybe she wanted to cut class? It wouldn’t be the first time she’s ever done that before.

When I entered the classroom, my eyes immediately darted towards Blaise and Dahlia sitting at the last of the classroom, along with Hazel and William.

Dahlia appeared to be sleeping, but I couldn’t really tell because she had her black sunglasses on. She was wearing her maroon hoodie over her uniform with the chain open and the hood covering up her messy black hairs.

I approached them and sat down next to William, “Where were you this morning? I searched everywhere,” I said, bending forward to look at Dahlia.

“Dahlia!” I called out to her, but she didn’t react. Her mouth was slightly open, so I assumed she was dozing. Hazel nudged her elbow to wake her up as I repeated what I had just said a little louder.

Dahlia abruptly stood up. “Yes, Professor, I am sure that I fully comprehend everythinggggggg,” She spoke with a scratchy voice and made very deliberate movements. Everyone turned to stare at her, when Blaise pulled her down.

“What are you doing?” He asked, confused.

Instead of responding, she simply yawned.

“Why are you wearing shades here?” Hazel said before removing the eye wear from Dahlia.

“Dahlia! Where did you spend the morning?” She was having trouble opening her eyes completely to look at me, so I asked again.

She answered, “Just wenttt aaa walkkk,” Her words stumbling as she spoke. “Are you drunk?” Leaning forward to gaze at Dahlia, William observed.

“No.” Dahlia said, her voice slurred. She seemed half asleep and was talking in a very slow and relaxed manner.

“She sounds drunk.” Blaise said under his breath.

“Dahlia, how much have you had to drink,” I asked her, my tone a little concerned with the way she was acting.

Dahlia just scoffed. “This one little bottle isn’t going to do much.” Her words were completely slurred and it was clear she was trying to hold back from a yawn.

Before Hazel was about to finish her sentence when Snape entered the class, causing everyone to get up from their seats before he motioned for us to sit down once more.

“We’ll continue with our topic from yesterday. Anyone remember what we did last class?” Looking around the classroom, Snape posed the question.
