Next Day At Hogwarts
Athena Jones

I feel like the tension from yesterday followed me back to school, my heart is pounding as I walk through the corridors of Hogwarts. As I reach the main stairs I see William heading in the same direction as me.

I don't know if I should say anything to him about what happened, should I pretend that nothing happened yesterday?

"Hey you," I say catching up with him

"Hey" he says with a brief smile as we walk together.

The silence between us is deafening, we both know why we're not saying anything, but still doesn't make it any less awkward. Our silence was shattered by the sounds of a group of students running past us.

I glance at them as they run past us, they're most likely heading towards the Great Hall for breakfast. I guess some things never change, it seems like the students are still as chaotic and active as always, it's actually a refreshing sight.

I glance back at William, even before he could say anything, I can tell that's he's thinking the same thing as me. We both don't want the day start off in a tense and awkward way, we both know that we need to have a conversation about what happened yesterday.

Ever since we came back last night, all of us have been apart, Dahlia is not back yet from her house, Hazel didn't come back in the room to sleep, Blaise hasn't came out of his room, I have no idea what he is thinking.

I look over at William, his eyes are fixated on the ground as we walk, I'm starting to feel that he's afraid to even look at me right now, it's obvious he wants to say something but he's hesitant about it.

I try to think of something to say to him. After our argument with Dahlia after I almost lost control — I knew he might have questions, and he might be needing someone to talk to.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" I ask William as we continue walking, I see him looking up at me and I can see the hesitation in his eyes at the moment.

"Yeah...what is it?" he asks with a nod, his eyes still hesitating to meet mine.

"You know...about yesterday, did you feel it... I mean you saw me and what I did," I ask nervously, the silence feels deafening to me right now, I've never felt this awkward before, but in a way it feels familiar.

William finally looks at me, I can already see the hint of fear and surprise in his expression as he finally looks at me"Oh you mean... you going crazy, the answer is yes I did notice if that's what you're asking," he says calmly, though his voice felt shaky.

"Right...so uh...did it scare you or something?" I ask as we continue to walk along the hallway, the sound of the students echoing around us.

"I mean you've told us about it, but seeing it— seeing you actually, your eyes your eyes turned into red hues and the stuff in the room it was....it was just a little unsettling," he responded as if he doesn't even know how to put it into words.

I could feel my stomach tense, I couldn't tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing. I guess it was obvious that he was scared, but he didn't express it in a harsh way.

"I'm sorry you actually had to see that," I say, his reaction was making my heart feel like it was about to fall out of my chest, I'm still processing how he's feeling. "I'm sorry that any of you had to see it," I say remembering the facial expressions of Hazel, Blaise, him and Dahlia from yesterday.

"Don't apologize, you couldn't help it" I'm trying to remain calm but I can feel the tension in me beginning to build up again, I could hear my own breath, it feels like it's going faster and faster every second. "But you still have those powers though, right? Do you have any control over them?"
