Athena Jones

Dahlia been avoiding me still, even if she says she isn't, I have no idea what I should do to make it like before although now I've come to think there is nothing I could do.

I'm walking towards my class, alone and I'm already ten minutes late.

The hallway is busy as usual with students and the sound of them chatting and laughing echoes around the hallways.

I burst in the door of the classroom which was already full but thank god the professor wasn't here yet, I glanced around the room for an empty seat just to notice Astoria and Malfoy on two separate corner of the room.

Which was weird considering they were sitting together few days ago. I tilt my head before walking up towards Malfoy and taking a seat beside him.

He looked slightly confused as he looked at me before nodding his head, “Doesn't this count in you breaking your rules?" He raises an eyebrow.

I gave him a blank look before rolling my eyes at him, "I suppose it does, but I’ll cut my losses and take the risk, I can't say my day has been going great so far."

“Oh?” He inquired, “Why’s that?” He asked nonchalantly, though I noticed the slight arch of his eyebrow.

I leaned back in my seat, giving a small exasperated sigh, "Just woke up in a shitty mood, but I don't really want to go into the specifics of it," I grumbled, "Besides, I don't believe you'd care, anyway."

"Fair enough," He shrugs, before running a hand through his hair and crossing his arms, "Are you leaving your Anti-Malfoy, rampage then?" He muses.

I almost chuckled at the mention of the 'Anti-Malfoy Rampage', "No," I said firmly. "I'm still very much 'Anti-Malfoy', I'm just," I paused, searching for the right word, "Feeling a bit too tired to bother with my usual hate speech."

"Ah," He said, nodding in understanding, "So, you're just using me for peace and a distraction then?" He teases.

I rolled my eyes at his words, but a reluctant smile tugged at the corners of my lips, "Shut up will you,"

The professor came in just when I was about to ask him a question, I took my eyes off him and focused on the teacher waiting for the lecture to begin.

We’re like 15 minutes into the lecture about the history of magic spells and incantations later, when I glanced at Malfoy who was scribbling something on his parchment.

“Did you and Astoria break up?” I ask looking at the other corner of the classroom to see Astoria sitting with some Slytherin guy.

Malfoy looked up from his notes in surprise, as if he didn’t expect me to ask him that question. "Who told you that?" He asked with a hint of annoyance.

I shrugged, "No one, but I have eyes. I saw the two of you sitting apart today, considering she was warming your lap just few days ago," I whisper, the last part almost in a sing-song.

He rolled his eyes, clearly not impressed by my observation. "We weren't together,"

I raised an eyebrow, "Oh? You weren’t? It sure looked that way-"
