Chapter 13: Snowball

Izuku and Ochako were in a gymnasium training for the sports festival.

"Ok, so I'm gonna throw these rings and you'll try to dodge them," Izuku said, "Just think of them as Kacchan's explosions or something."

"Ok," Ochako said.

"Alright. Ready?" Izuku asked.

"Ready," Ochako said.

With that Izuku started shooting the rings at Ochako. She started moving out of the way, without the use of her quirk. She was planning on increasing her physicality.

"Come on what is this grade school, give me something harder," she said

"If you say so." Izuku replied.

He then formed the rings into some kind of whip and tried to his Ochako.

Ochako evaded the ring whip with ease, jumping left and right, without the use of her quirk. Izuku was impressed by this. He suddenly stopped.

"Deku, what's wrong?" she asked.

"Someone's coming," he said.

All of a sudden, a little girl who appeared to be 5 or six ran into his arms.

"Hey, are you ok?" he asked.

The girl then clinged onto Izuku like her life depended on it.

"Please... don't go." She said clearly scared.

"What's wrong?" Ochako asked.

A man with some kind of plague mask started walking towards them. Izuku looked at him and shot him a glare. The rings were telling him this man was no good.

"Thank you for finding my daughter," he said, "I'll be taking her back now if you don't mind."

"I sense a scared presence within the girl. Not to mention she has bandages all over her." Izukui said getting up to the man's face. "I don't THINK you'll get her back." He didn't let go of his glare at the man. The man looked pissed as well.

"Are you questioning me?" the man asked.

"So what if I am?"

The man was about to do something, but before he could, he was interrupted by a hard punch in the face, landing him against a wall, embedding him to it. Izuku used 100%, but due to the rings healing factor, he didn't feel the slightest amount of pain.

He then contacted the police, and explained everything that happened. Izuku wasn't prosecuted since they passed it off as him using the rings. Izuku looked down at the little girl and smiled. At this, the girl went back to Izuku and hugged him tightly.

"...ank you." She said.

"You're welcome... What's your name?" Izuku asked.

She said her name in a quiet voice that Izuku couldn't hear.

"I'm sorry, could you say that a little louder?" Izuku asked.

"Eri." The girl now known as Eri said.

"You're safe now," Izuku said, "Let's take you to Granny Chiyo so she can get you looked at."

Izuku then took the litte girl known as Eri in his arms, and Ochako followed them. They made it to Recovery Girl's office.

"Did you break your arm Yagi?" Recovery Girl asked.

"No, but this little girl could use some looking at," he said.

Eri looked at the lady with curiosity.

"She's so short," she quietly said.

Recovery girl did a few tests and things that me and Wicca have NO IDEA about. Izuku then decided to do something. He put his hand on Eri calmly, and his hand started to glow green. The scars around her body started to disappear.

"Well you did me a favor," Recovery Girl said, "Maybe I can retire sooner than I thought."

"School wouldn't be the same without you Grandma Chiyo," Izuku said.

Eri tugged on Ochako's shirt.

"I'm sorry you had to waste your time on me," she said.

"Eri, that's what heroes are here for, to save people in need," Ochako said, "And to see little girls smile. Why don't you show us your smile?"

Later on Izuku was in Principal Nezu's office explaining the entire scenario to him. Nezu put his book down.

"This is indeed troubling news," he said, "No child should have to suffer like she did."

"From what the rings showed me, its like she lived her entire life thinking she is a curse. But her power could be a force for good," Izuku explained, "If people could only see what she could do."

Izuku thought for a moment. He then had an idea.

"Sir, would it be too much trouble if I became her guardian and/or adopted her?"

"Wait... you want to adopt her?" Nezu asked, "I mean there wouldn't be a problem but... why?"

"Because I witnessed firsthand that some families won't support their child because of something that's beyond their control. And I'll be damned if Eri went through the same thing."

Nezu gave him a few papers.

"Just sign these and you're good to go," he said with a smile, "You're doing a great thing here young Yagi."

Later on, Izuku and Ochako walked into the room where Eri was.

"Hi," he said.

"Hi," she said back.

"Eri I have some news for you," Izuku said, "I talked with my principal, and I was given permission to adopt you."

"Adopt?" Eri asked, "What does that mean?"

"It means I'm gonna be your new daddy," Izuku said.

Tears streamed down her face.

"Why would you do something like this for me?" Eri asked.

"Because, I've witnessed how unfair the world can be. I suffered so many bad things in my life, and I don't want you to suffer the same thing. I'll give you the good life you deserve."

Eri was silent for a moment. She then gave Izuku a big hug.

"Thank you," she said.

OChako smiled at the moment. Izuku turned to Ochako and smiled at her.

"This would also make her your mom," Izuku said, "I trust her with my life Eri, and I'm sure you can trust her too."

Eri was a bit hesitant, but then she started walking over to Ochako.

"Daddy says I can trust you, so I do," Eri said as she wrapped Ochako's legs in a hug, ".....Mommy."

Ochako smiled after hearing those words, then immediately hugged the little girl and then picked her up, prepping her with kisses. Eri giggled at this. Nezu smiled seeing the three of them act like they were a family.
