CHAPTER 20
Trapped In The Bubble

Monday,
May 9, 2022,
Bubble Island,
Sumepu Province.

Bible

“I’M JUST protecting the person I love.”

I closed my eyes and let out a deep breath. Focus, Bible. I have to leave and go back to Crimson Wood. I have to move fast and capture FDS. Now that I already know his real identity, it will be easy now---not that easy, but I already now know who I am looking for. I am no longer lost in this case.

But how am I going to leave when I’m trapped here? On this private island. I am surrounded by the sea. No boats, rafts, or any kind of things that I can use to cross this wide ocean.

“Just trust me, Bible. I won’t let FDS victimize another innocent person. His focus is now on me. He wanted to ruin me, he wanted to hurt me, he wanted to kill me. And I’m really sure that he will use you to make that happen. He knows how important you are to me. You are my weakness, Bible.”

I just let out another deep breath. I do understand him. He wanted to protect me. Some part of me is even happy because I am an important person to Build and he doesn’t want bad things to happen to me. But I can’t just sit here and do nothing.

I looked around at my surroundings. Build left me in that room after our talk awhile ago. He would just care about something, he said. So, I decided to have a walk and went out of the villa.

I wasn’t able to appreciate the beauty of this island last night, because the whole surroundings were engulfed by darkness. But seeing it now, this place is paradise. Crystal clear water, white sands, and a forest behind the villa.

If FDS is just out of the picture, staying here with Build would be lovely.

But our situation right now won’t let us enjoy our stay here, because FDS is just there around the corner, and might be planning his next move to do his evil deeds.

What should I do? I’m stuck here.

I can’t really find any things that I could use to cross this ocean. Build really made sure that I wouldn’t be able to leave. I didn’t waste time asking Bua and Luve, nor Finley, because I knew they would never go against Build. I’m really trapped here.

I wanted to use my phone to call Davon, but I couldn’t risk Build’s safe place and getting traced. So, I refrained myself and kept my phone off. There is a reason why Build told me to never tell anyone about this place, never even to his own uncle. Build’s safety is my priority.

Maybe, I will just think of another way---

“Why are you alone here?”

I immediately turned my head to the person who asked that.

It was Finley.

He stood beside me and smiled, showing his dimple on his left cheek. “Done talking with Jak?”

I nodded lightly. “Yeah. He said he’d just take care about something. So, I thought of walking around while waiting for him.”

“And find something useful to cross the ocean?”

I halted. Of course, he knew. I just sighed and took back my gaze at the crystal clear water of the sea.

I heard him laugh lightly. “Just trust Jak. He knows what he’s doing. He just wants to protect you.”

“I know, and I understand.” I took back my gaze on him. “But I couldn’t bear to just sit here and do nothing. Especially when I know I can do something. My job was to capture that criminal. And I also wanted to protect Build.”
