His Ways To Play

Build’s Apartment
Crimson Wood, Hallony.

Build

LAST NIGHT was so chaotic. It was supposed to be an enjoyable night, because it was Tommy’s night. But Bible suddenly came, saying that FDS might victimize someone in that place. Then, after that, Tommy went missing.

Bible told me to go home because the place was dangerous. But I opposed it. Not because I’m worried about my missing colleague, but because I still want to stay with him and watch him work.

I’m not the Build everyone knows. The kind-hearted, jolly, amiable, and accommodating Build they knew was all fake. I’m a fake and a big fat liar. So, I was lying when I told Bible that I wanted to stay because I was worried about my colleagues. The truth is, I just want him to stay with me.

Worrying about people will just hurt me and send me into trouble. It is always better to stay unbothered and to give no care about anyone. Always worrying will just give me no peace. Worrying about someone will just give me pain in the end. And I don’t want to feel that anymore.

Go back to the scene last night…

“I feel like this is my fault. I forgot about Tommy. He’s the celebrant, and I didn’t even suspect his absence,” I said after watching on the monitor what happened before Tommy went missing. We saw him going outside the bar with someone.

I am here inside a van with lots of monitors, together with Bible and his partner, who is named Davon. He is also a detective, like Bible. While my colleagues are now gone to their homes. Bible asked them to go home after we found out that Tommy was missing. They are worried about Tommy, but they have no choice but to go home, especially that Bible has already revealed himself as a detective.

“You have no fault, Build. You didn’t know that this would happen. Don’t blame yourself,” Bible said, while his sincere eyes were on me.

I shook my head. “You already told me about FDS. Tommy was the celebrant, and I haven’t seen him since I came. I should have suspected. I should have told you. But instead, I forgot about him.”

Bible patted my shoulder. “Please, don’t blame yourself, Build. You did nothing wrong.”

“Detective Sumettikul’s right. You did nothing wrong. So, don’t feel responsible,” then Detective Davon butted in. “But can you tell us if you’re familiar with the person your friend along with leaving the bar?”

I took back my eyes at the monitor and stared at Tommy’s comrade. “Yeah, I know him. He’s Tommy’s friend. I sometimes see him going to our company to fetch Tommy. But I don’t know his name.” That was true. Tommy had already introduced him to me, but I forgot his name.

“Can’t you give us any information about him? Like, where does he work or what?” Davon.

I shook my head and looked at him apologetically. “I’m sorry. I don’t know anything about him. But you can ask his other friends. Like, Jay. He’s also my work mate, and he often hangouts with Tommy. Maybe Jay knows that person.”

“Okay. Thanks, Build. Can you give us his contact, so we could talk to him?” Davon.

“Sure.” Then, I gave them Jay’s contact number and address.

“Don’t worry too much, Build. We’re not certain yet if he’s really missing. Let’s wait until tomorrow. I’ll update you. But for now, go home. You need rest. I’ll drive you home,” Bible announced. I did not oppose him anymore and let him drive me home. Because I know he will going to be busy, and I don’t want to bother him any longer.
